Power working but burners and stove doesnt

Exchanged stoves. Then one that I had used a three prong plug. The kenmore had a four prong plug. when plug in stove got hot. turned element on and spark came from control board on top (I'm thinking that this might have fried the board). Tightened wires back and tried again now light come on, but no elements will heat. Not a rich guy (and getting poorer by the day) so just looking for some good dheap advise..thanks

How do I plug back in the GE stove top burners after unplugging them?

The two leads from the burner fit into a socket in the stove top. It's a bit tricky to get it in just right. If the three metal "legs" on the burner fit snugly into the three slots on the stovetop you did it right.

Spectra profile performance jb960k0d1cc has power but neither oven and stove work

what type of power cord does your range have? is it a three prong cord or a four pronge cord. If it is a four pronge cord you must make sure that the ground wire is attached correctly on the back of the range. You can refere to your owners manual that came with the range on how to hook up the range cord.

I have a kenmore gas range with electric ignitors. My question is that my stove top doesnt ignite but lets gas by and I can use a lighter to lite them. However my oven doesn't do anything...no gas no...

Electric gas igniters sometimes get stuck in one position causing a clicking sound. The clicking sound that you hear is the electric arc that is pulsing from the igniter conductor (wire) to ground (the gas burner). It receives power from the electrical outlet that the stove is plugged into.
Residue from food and sometimes cleaning products may be preventing the igniter from producing a spark (Arc) to the base of the burner. This is a common problem that occurs when the stove has been cleaned or food is allowed to build up. Make sure that the igniter and the burner base are clean and dry. This will help with proper operation. Oven cleaner and a small tooth brush may be used to accomplish this. Another problem with ignition may occur if you have too little (touching) or too much space between the igniter and the base of the burner; it will prevent the burner from igniting. You should only have a little more space than the thickness of a nickel between the burner base and the igniter. A good “blue” arc from the igniter to the burner base is optimal. If this doesn’t work, you may need to replace the electric igniter module. Good luck.

The back burner of our Kenmore 30" electric free standing stove model # 911.94401301 is not working the coil is working it will heat up I am curiouse if it is the plug under the hood and is this...

This IS something you can fix

There are three likely causes, in most common occurence
there are fuses in the rear control console that blow
the socket does wear and require replacement
the temperature controller wires come loose, or the control fails.

check first for fuses
second swap the cables from the controller of the burner that doesnt work, to another controller to test if it is the controller or the socket.
  • swap cables with power disconnected and do NOT leave bare cables unsecured even while testing, better a live repairer, than a live wire
if the burner then works the controller is dead
if the burner still does not work, the socket is dead

the local parts store, or even a hardware store, will have the parts, even if branded frigidaire or ge or generic instead of kenmore, (Sears service is expensive and slow) many models of stove use the same socket, element, controller, clock, circuit board

Do you flames have orange to yellow tips then there is a unburn carbon thst will form soot. soot productions is not achieving complete or efficient burning...again you may have dirty ot clogged burners..the flames should be all blue...let me know what you find out

Burners - Oven not working

There is a problem with the 220v power to the stove. Indications are the neutral connection is missing either at the stove, in the plug receptacle or in the breaker panel.
