upgrade the firmware of your device follow this...
How to upgrade firmware 1. Download the zipped file for your region. 2. Unzip the file and you will see *.exe file. 3. Connect your H10 to PC via provided USB cable and power on H10. 4. Once the device is ready, run the *.exe. It will automatically copy the firmware to your H10. 5. The progress bar copying firmware will be shown and your H10 device will give you 'Busy' message. 6. Once it's done, it will give you 'Upgrade Complete' message. 7. Please disconnect H10 with 'Safely Remove Hardware' option on your PC task bar. 8. Turn on the power of H10, go to 'Settings -> Extra ->Firmware Upgrade' and select 'Yes'. 9. Your H10 device will shut off automatically once the firmware upgrade is complete.
I fixed my son's 605 4 GB had Recovery code (104) on it. This might work for other error codes too. These are the steps i followed * Use thecomputerfor this process that you always used for this archos Archos should be plugged in toPc before starting the process. * Download the firware Upgrade 2.1 * Plug the Archos toPc * When the white option screen comes up pick the format disk * Wait until all done do not pick any option on archos after format is done Pc should recognize your archos in 5 seconds * Put the firmware in root section of the archos not in any folder. * Safely remove the usb for Archos from your pc first and then unplug thecable. * Do not pick any option on the Archos screen * Just turn it off from the power button by holding it until it turns off * Wait about 5 minutes and plug it back to pc * it will come up with white screen again but this time it will start Update you will see the progress bar moving, wait until it is all done, it will shut off. Turn it back on and your archos will be back to normal
After 3 1/2 hours, the battery went dead. I waited a couple of minutes, then plugged it into my computer to see if the battery would charge. It started charging. A few hours later I went back to check on it, and it showed a full battery. I disconnected it from my computer, and turned it on. It came on, but the screen just said "Low Battery". I then plugged it back into my computer, and the screen said "Rebuilding Library". I left it for about a 1/2 hour, and it was done. I unplugged it from my computer, turned it on, and it works now!! Hope this helps out everyone else who has the same problem.
You can definitely use Windows Media Player - in fact, it is the reccomended program.
From your description, it sounds like you might have turned your mp3 player on before fully charging it. Let it charge for 3-4 hours before adding music or doing anything else. The "updating" message will eventually go away as long as you don't unplug the player from the computer before it finishes updating. If you do unplug the player from the PC while it is updating, you will effectively destroy your GoGear.
Check the battery, is it fully charged, if so then how old is it?? I once had a maybe 1yr. and a half one that did that ll the time. R u sure you are pressing the right button or pressing only 1 button when u do it! srry if my answers dont work! I tried hope it works out!
Mine didn't want to upgrade either. I kept trying it. I would notice that the box to continue would just flash for an instance then shut back off. I just kept trying to click on the box, and finally I timed it just right and it went ahead with the upgrade. Hope it will work for you.
Mine did the same thing. What I did, and it worked well for me, was I went down the menu until the Settings, then clicked that and went down until the Power Off section. I clicked that and went to Sleep Time, and held the right button down until it was set to 240 (I think that's what the highest # is). That keeps it playing for 240 minutes, after which it automatically shuts down to save power. You have to reset this every time you turn the mp4 player back on.
