1. Check the power chord and the power source.
2. Disconnect all the cables and put the cables back.

As the TV is automatically shutting off, this means that you could be having problems with the deflection board, high screen current will cause the set to shut down very quickly.

You need to get the power supply replaced. Get in touch with some local tv repairman.

Thanks

The power supply is inside the TV near the power supply board. However, you have already given Fixya to a different expert.

Remove the back panel from the television, you will see a board where the input jacks are located. To the left you will notice a red power wire. Just up and to the right approx 7" or so you will see a [_] shaped metal shield surrounding a capacitor in the middle of it. The part # on the board is CP150. It is a green/gold 16v 2200uF capacitor. More than likely this capacitor is faulty. Run your finger over the top of the capacitor, if it is beveled rather than smooth you have a definite solution to your problem. You may need to remove the plastic piece that covers the transformer to the left of the capacitor to gain easy access. Good luck!!

    OK, TV Picture Flickers.
Problem can be few weak capacitors in power supply and horizontal deflection section of TV.
If you are familiar with TV repair and have knowledge of basic electronics then give a try to check any leaky or top bulged capacitors in TV boards and replace them with same rating capacitors.

This problem is caused by a shorted power supply, the heat of operation causes it to short, then when it cools the short goes away, when all is said and done u will spend around $600 to get it fixed and still have an old TV, the new LCD's are not much more money, save yourself the hassle and replace the set.

Please someone help me with my tv

ok i see alot of these at the shop( i have one in front of me right now) The rca itc22 chasis is bad about this.. If the processor finds any problems it will shut it down. THe big problem it can be one of about 20 different things. As the customer the first thing you can do is unplug the set and leave it of 30 min to an hour. then try it again. ( I have yet to see this work) There are some basic assumptions that you can make.. if you see the light flash then it wont be a fuse. the processor is getting power. This is where a technicain starts his troubleshooting. You said it would shut itself down every once in awile... could be a bad connection or a component that finally overheated then failed. The processor on this set records errors so a technician can read these with special computer interface equipment. repairs on the set generally run 150 to 500. These sets are about 800 new at walmart so you have to make the decision to repair
