Keyboard defective in email

My logictech cordless keybpard functions normally in Microsoft Office Word - and now, as I type - but not in Yahoo email: it misses out one, two or even three letters at a time. I have to go back over each email I write and insert all the missing letters. Very laborious... Any solutions?

Sounds like a defective keypad. after all the software updates and still no change, either upgrade the batteries, clean the optical lenses, or invest in something better.

I would suggest the problem is with yahoo... as the other program is on your computer and works normally but the web based email does not... you may also want to reinstall ie7 if that is the browser you use. if you are using the new google browswer .... there is a known issue with it and yahoo... basically they don't like each other

When the system is infected with some virus You can lose control to Keyboard keys and there will be many missing keys as you said. However in your case I was wondering the keyboard works fine for MS-Office. I dont think there is any particular issue with Yahoo mail Application to not recognize any Keyboard.
Make sure you have updated your Antivirus! Or you can check your Keyboard with other PC and access Yahoo. Im sure it will work

Best Regard

It might be an interference problem, what you can do is re-install the driver of your keyboard, and plug the main controller to a different USB port.

Keyboard anomalies

First thing to try is replacing the batteries in your keyboard etc. second is to update the drivers from this link; http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/433/162&cl=us,en However, this sounds like it could be a virus, not anything to do with your keyboard. Check your anti virus software is up to date and do a full scan. If you need good free anti virus software then go to; http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1 and download. To verify this it also would be worth plugging a standard keyboard into your machine and removing the drivers for your cordless one to see if you get the same problem. Hope this helps, please ask again if not :)

I am using a multimedia office keyboard and I can't use the f keys such as F8 because they're other functions written on them such as "save". I can't find a second function key anywhere.

My version of this keyboard has a button in the upper left that toggles the function keys between their normal use and the MS Office specific use.

Keyboard Reset?

try To download the latest drivers for the keyboard that you are using, visit the following Microsoft hardware Web site:
http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/download/download.aspx?category=MK

If the issue occurs again, connect the keyboard to a different computer. If the keyboard functions correctly on a different computer, the port to which the keyboard was connected on the original computer may be damaged. If this is the case, contact your computer manufacturer to inquire about how to repair or replace the damaged port.
If the keyboard does not function correctly on another computer, the keyboard may be defective. If this is the case, and the warranty on the keyboard is still valid, you can exchange the defective keyboard for a new keyboard.

good luck :)
