You don't need worry! That laser you are talking about is a secondary. The mouse Movement Sensor is separate!!

I had the same problem, brand new battery, the indicator light still blinking red. I finally got mad enough to shake the mouse kinda hard, and it worked. I then removed and replaced the old batteries in, it started blinking red again, but it worked after I gave it a couple of hard side by side shake. I do notice that there's something moving inside the mouse. It could be a connector that got loose. Hope this fixes your problem

Driver for v220 logitech mouse os win 98

Hi

I'm afraid the USB mouses will not work on windows 98, please use the adapter so it fits into a ps2 port. (the old mouse plug) then of course you can check the logitechs website if they offer any drivers for windows 98 but its very unlikely.

Actually I looked myself and the oldest they offer is xp.

so it would be a good time to buy a new computer, yours must be around 12 years old. considering that 5 year old machine is considered old, your 12year old machine is ancient.

I have a logitech mouse for my laptop. I bent my usb plug. Can i replace that pat?

Well, yes you can. I've done it myself. If you're not handy with solder, you can cut the USB plug off of either another peripheral or a USB cable. Cut the damaged plug off, strip all the wires a bit, the twist them together with the "new" plug wires. It will look ugly, but wrap it in some electrical tape and you'll be good to go... If you can solder, you'll come out with a less noticeable repair.

You need to remove the oval shaped slider pads, and under these, you will find small "Philips screws". If you heat up the slider pads with a hair dryer, you can remove them with the nail on your thumb, and reuse them. Park them on a hard, shiny non greasy surface during your ventures inside the mouse.

I just purchased the Logitech LX7 Cordless it does not work

I assume the mouse worked before on this computer.

My experience: Green light on isn't a good indicator.
Try new batteries. Rechargables any kind, when discharged drop power quite quickly.

Regards.
