SOURCE: Can I adjust the volume on my GE Networx NX-148E

There are a couple of things you can do, you can silence the keypad via a programming change to the alarm panel, but this requires knowing the installer or 'go' code. On the other hand, you can change the tone of the keypad by pressing * 0 and using the arrow keys to adjust the tone up and down.

We have a Direct Alarm Supplies home Networx NX 16 security system installed in our home after we have a power blackout & the power comes back on the alarm goes off. Is this normal or how to fix

If you have had the system for some while, its internal battery eventually looses full charge by constantly being charged by the system. When you loose power the alarm will try to resort to the battery that obviously can handle the job no longer and forces the system to alarm. Recommend that you replace the battery on a regular basis around 12 / 24 months. Otherwise may be a configuration of your system that identifies power loss as a setting.

GE NX-1300E

this kind of issue is usually caused by either a logic fault or an issue on the main board.
Look for a defaulting switch on the board. remove ALL power, press and hold the switch and restore power, this should default the board back to factory settings. You will have to reprogram the system so take note of what areas are assigned to what zones..
Make sure the power pack is supplying the correct voltage too, check on the pack for its output and make sure the same supply voltage is reaching the board.
Also, check for blown or damaged fuses as the keyad should have its own fuse, check these electrically - looking to see if the fuse is damaged is not sufficient, check to make sure it has continuity with a multimeter and be careful if you try using a normal test probe as these can cause issues with digital circuitory.

I had one of these once, the batteries go bad very quickly, especially if left outside in hot/cold weather. You might need to buy new batteries, you can get them pretty cheap on ebay.

Keypad message reading 12volt low battery on three wireless zones. changed out all batteriies and still getting message.

This could be referring to your battery backup for the control panel. Make sure your battery connections are secure and check the batteries' voltage with a multimeter. If it is showing less than 12 volts and has been connected to the control panel for more than 24 hours, the battery is bad and needs replacement. Contact your local alarm company and ask them verify the battery is bad, and they can install a new one for you right then.

This could be a supervision problem. If zone expanders, gsms, keypads, etc. are added to this alarm panel, you must enroll the device with the control panel. This is done by entering into programming mode ( * + 8 + {go code} ) and then simply exiting programming mode by hitting the exit button. The GE NetworX control panel and it's affiliated compatible devices will auto-enroll after about 15 seconds. The default 'go' code is 9713, but this is usually changed by the alarm company installer.
