How to adjust idle on 1998 chev surburan

completely remove the air cleaner assembly off the top of the engine and find the throttle body linkage area..its where the gas pedal cable and cruise control hook in..behind this linkage is a small threaded stud with a nut on it to the backside of the throttle body..loosen the nut and turn the stud until the desired engine speed is reached..normally 650 rpm to not much over 850.. too high and the truck will pull at stoplights making you ride the brakes too much..

Where can I buy a good speed bag punching bag online?

There are so many places to buy speed bags. First you need to decide whether you want a hanging speed bag or a free standing speed bag. If you are a beginner, you should buy a 7 inch speed bag. Here are a few to look through and compare.

Locked out of my mustang. Have a slim jim. how does it work?

Lots of things inside your door that a slim Jim can destroy. But basically slide it between the window and the rubber seal at the bottom of the glass. The idea is to hook onto the door lock linkage and pull up or push down. I'd really recommend letting a professional do it with modern lockout tools. Very easy to break stuff with that tool.

Small spring on my B&S 450series Victa lawn mower engine has come adrift and unsure where it actually hooks up, as it will not start

Hi, I will try and help you out. From what you are describing it sounds like the governor spring. This is part of the linkage that keeps your engine always running at the same RPM even when you put a load on the engine, like when you start cutting grass it keeps going at the same speed. One end of that spring hooks up to the lever that you use to adjust the speed of the engine. On the side of your engine not too far away from carb you should see an arm that is attached to a small shaft coming out of the engine block and is approximately 2" to 3" long, at the top of it should be 2 holes drilled into it. One part of the linkage should be attached to it already, it goes to the throttle plate that is at the top of the carb, the spring hooks to the other hole.
That is about all I can explain to you from what you described in your question. Hope this is helpful. Best regards and good luck. I will answer any other questions you might have.

Motor runs wide open when set @ slow speed

It could be that the governor spring has become disconnected or has broken on an end where it hooks onto the throttle linkage. If the spring is OK & throttle linkage is not binding it could mean the governor drive inside the engine has failed preventing the governor from operating correctly. You may need to take the engine to a mechanic to fix the problem.

Check to see that the blend door linkage is hooked up. Doubtful it is heater core, as you had heat to one side and not the other. Check coolant control valve linkage, verify it is moving the coolant valve from off to on when you switch temperature from cold to hot. Verify you have coolant flow to the heater core by feeling the heater hoses where they enter the firewall. If all checks out well, then look at hvac controls individually.
