Re: STOCK IN ONE POSITION
Try a GPS reset, exit navigation, click on setup, click on GPS reset. then restart navigation. check the gps status screen to make sure you are getting signals. if not, you could have a failed antenna or GPS receiver in the unit.

Refer to Page 8 of your owner's manual: On the main screen, touch "Where to?", then enter the state, city and address at the next screen. Once you've entered the information, touch the address and your unit will probably ask "Navigate to there?" and confirm... and off you go. You can save addresses to your Favorites list as well.
sat nav needs a valid gps signal to start calculating route, even if it found entered address. Address is searched on built-in map, not live gps position. That means, sat nav may have problem with gps signal. Try to reset device to its factory settings first. hope this helps
On most gps's that means it is time to reset the unit. This should force it to reload the sattilite catalog information and it should start working. Depending on the unit it can take up to an hour before it it works after rebooting while other new ones do it in a few miutes at most.
I believe this unit has a reset hole on the back so just insert somethign like a toothpick and reset it. Then place it where it can get a signal and let it do its thing. Should behave after that.
Your magellan roadmate 760 unit does not have any reset option. To over come the signal problem just follow the trobleshooting steps givven below .............
NOTE: If you are trying these steps from your vehicle, it is Recommended to follow when the vehicle is in a stationary position. Make sure that the device is exposed to the clear view of sky. With the antenna pointing upwards, remove the antenna and then re-insert. Swivel it up and down to make sure its securely placed. wait for few mins and check the signal indicator. Still not working,
Turn on the unit and select any user.
Make sure that the antenna is in the upright position and the unit has a direct line of sight with the sky.
Select 'Option' from the keypad.
Then select 'Configuration'.
Scroll down to select 'Diagnostics'.
Scroll down again to select 'Initialize GPS'.
At this point you would receive two options, 'Yes or No' - select 'YES'.
Now scroll down and select 'Set GPS Position'.
Enter your City, Street name and number at the corresponding prompts.
NOTE: The address that you are entering in the Set GPS Position should be the address at which you are at that point of time.
