From the Wii Channels menu, click the "Wii" button on the lower left of the screen. From there choose: Wii Settings > Screen > TV Resolution. In this menu, click on the "EDTV or HDTV (480p)" option and then click "confirm".
The wii does not support HDTV resolutions, it only supports EDTV which is a resolution of 480p. If you want to get a clearer resolution than a simple scart interface you will need to purchase a wii component cable (you can get them off amazon/ebay) that has 6 jacks you can plug into the component slots on the back of the television.
In order to use the 480p (HDTV/EDTV) resolution, you MUST be using the Wii Component Video Cable. Any other cable will not display the 480p resolution, you have use the 480i (Standard) instead. You can order the Wii Component Video Cable through Nintendo's Web site. Using that cable, you can select the 480p resolution. Hope this helps.
