Question about Sony KP-57HW40 57" Rear Projection Television

52'' sony tv rear projection turns blue

I have a 52'' sony tv that we bought in 2002. for past few months, it slowly turns blue. Recently it turns blue, then flashes blue and turns off. We can still hear the voice.

    Yes, I have the same problem....no picture, screen turns blue then turns off all together

It sounds like the blue crt is failing Pull the front off and turn the tv on
When it still has a good picture tap the blue crt
if it flashes blue with lines across the screen then you know it is a bad crt

It might not be worth fixing

thats caused by the optical block which is very expensive to replace. Sony has had alot of issues with the blue dots on the screen its not worth repairing due to the high cost of the optical block

The problem of your TV is the color wheel..that is the one that affects the color if you had a dlp projection tv...

If your TV is crt projection the problem could be the convergence I.C (STK###)the common part #...

just replaced it with the same type,ratings and value.

not if it keeps repeating the same cycle over and over..it cost 300 once and if you have it fixed again thats another 300 and if it happens again so on and so on....

try turning off the auto shut off feature in you set up screens . you can find them through the menu button on your remote. scroll through till you find it and turn it off.

i have the same problem picture is blue/green with blue and green arched horizontal lines

no picture at all only sound then tv shuts off after 5-10 seconds and then a bright blue flash in the center of the screen

have tried adjusting the voltage screws didnt do anything
