Thanks for trying. The problem isn't 100%, so the software reinstallation didn't do the trick. Much of the time multiple sheets of the paper still pull into the printer.

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

This solution is unconventional but it worked for me. The black roller on my MFC had irregularities on it and was creating horrible printouts. I pulled out the drum and cartridge and cleaned the large black roller. I used furniture polish to make the roller very smooth. Now it prints really nice.

Frequent Paper Jams in Brother HL-2140

Every 120,000 pages, the paper feed rollers, fuser, transfer roller, and OPC belt cartridge should be replaced, usually by a trained techncian.
Fuser and OPC belt units are customer-replacable.

The multiple feeding of the paper into the printer is due to a worn paper separation pad. part no. LM0711001. If the machine is picking up the paper okay and the jams occur solely from multiple sheet feeding, then this part is probably all you will need. The steps required to access and remove & replace the separation pad unfortunately is about 10 steps. Better consult a tech.

Drum for Brother MFC-6800 All in One Machine
You can expect it to print 12,000 Page Yield
Whats the difference between a DRUM and a TONER Cartridge? The toner cartridge is a cartridge holding the toner (ink). The drum does the work to transfer the ink to the paper. You will need to replace the drum every 5-6 toner cartridges you use.

I waited awhile to let the machine cool down (and me too!) Then I put in a fresh batch, being especially carefull to align everything. Since then it's worked fine. I did print out a cupla emails while I was chillin.

Brother MFC 6800 shows Replace Drum Soon even after replacing drum

Put back the sheet in.

Remove the drum, put back the starter sheet in with the flat edge toward you.
Turn the drum left gear to get the sheet in till the plastic notch are even with the edge of the sheet.

The put back the drum in the printer unit, close the unit and printer will eject again the sheet clearing the message.

you may have to try this more then once, the sheet should be at the right place in order for the message to clearout.

You also need to clean the 1/2 inch plastic windows at the bottom of the printer prior to put back the Drum. this will allow the laser to get to the drum unit more accuratelly.

Don't use alcool, or any liquid. this could damage or scratch the clear plastic windows and thus alter the print quality.

Hi, Make sure the rear cover is closed. 2. Usually when you get misc symbols on the printed page the machine couldn't recognize the print job. I would try printing something from another file and see if the problem occurs.
