I'm not sure what you are trying to do--you are asking how to make a file name, but I think what you are really doing is asking the computer to open a file name (the one you are trying to create). That is why it is saying it cannot find it.
Read the prompt carefully when using your program. If it asks for a file name to open, you should be sure it's an existing file.
It is quite easy to misunderstand what the question is you are being asked. I've messed up this way before.
So, when a slide is open (maybe you scanned it in) you will need to save it as a particular name, not open it.

What 4 things do I need to know before downloading a driver

A) You need to know what Operating System you are using.
Windows XP and Windows 7, are two examples of an O/S.

B) You need to know EXACTLY what computer you have, that you are downloading a driver to.
Look at the Service Tag of the computer, or it's ID tag.
Tells you the Model Name AND the Model Number.

For example Dell Dimension 2400.
Dell = Manufacturer
Dimension = Model Name
2400 = Model Number

C) You have to download the driver, AND install it.

When you click on the driver file to download, a small window will come up on the right.
Click on Save File.

A small window will come up on the Left.
DOUBLE-click on the driver file name, in that small window.
Now follow the easy instructions; Next, Next, and Finish.
(Or DOUBLE-click on the .exe file )

D) You may have to go to Device Manager, and see what the name of the device is, in order to download THE correct driver.

Example: Go to Device Manager;
(Left-click on Start > Right-click on an empty area of your desktop screen > Left-click on Properties at the bottom of the list > Left-click on the Hardware tab > Left-click on Device Manager )

Looking for an Ethernet Controller Driver, for example?
Click on the + sign next to Network adapters.
What is stated for an Ethernet chipset manufacturer?
Realtek? Conexant? Creative? And so forth.

Match up the ethernet chipset manufacturer, and Networking drivers offered.
Use the newest driver offered. (Look at the dates) If the newest driver doesn't work, then go back, and download the older driver offered, and install it.

Driver: A small piece of software that allows the Operating System to communicate with a device

I need compatible vga drivers for d5102/845g hp compag also my pc displayasignal is out of range

Out of range is it?

HP Support > Compaq Evo D510 Convertible Mini-Tower > Business Support Center,

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Home.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=12454&prodSeriesId=316510&lang=en&cc=us

Under the subheading Tasks for Compaq Evo D510 Convertible Minitower,
click on Download drivers and software

Now click on the Operating System your computer is using.
I'm going to click on Windows XP Home Edition to use as an example,

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=97128&prodTypeId=12454&prodSeriesId=316510&swLang=13&taskId=135&swEnvOID=1098

Scroll down the page to the heading Driver -Graphics, above the red banner.

Now you need to know what graphics device you are using. Intel or Nvidia.
Go to Device Manager

[ Left-click on Start
Right-click on My Computer
Left-click on Properties at the bottom of the list.
Left-click on the Hardware tab.
Left-click on Device Manager ]

When Device Manager has fully loaded, click on the + sign to the left of -
Display adapters

Look at the name of the Display adapter. Is it Intel or Nvidia?
Now you know which driver you need.

Click on Download in the black rectangle, to the right of the appropriate driver file.
A small window will come up on the right.

(Opening sp31099.exe for Intel. { sp31099.exe is the file name. Remember this}
Opening sp24547.exe for Nvidia. {sp24547.exe is the file name )

Click on Save File
Another small window will come up.
In the top of the window tells you where the file will download to.

My compaq d530 cmt....i cannot get on the internet and cant find the right driver for and dont know which driver to install......help

You didn't state what Operating System you're using. I'm going to assume WinXP Home.

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=316722&prodTypeId=12454&prodSeriesId=316720&swLang=13&taskId=135&swEnvOID=1098#11395

Go down to the heading Driver-Network.

Now Minimize the window. (At the top right of the screen. Starting from left to right; Minimize window icon, Maximize window icon, Close window icon. {Red square, white X)

On your desktop screen right-click on My Computer.
Left-click on Properties at the bottom of the list.

Left-click on the Hardware tab.
Left-click on Device Manager.

When Device Manager fully loads, left-click on the + sign next to Network adapters.

Now match up the name of the device, with the correct network driver file listed in the HP Support link.

Is it a Broadcom device listed?
Is it the newer version? Broadcom NeXtreme? (Doubt it)

If it isn't Broadcom NetXtreme the two first files listed do not apply.

Go on down. Is it an Intel device?
Just indicates Intel in the name of the device?
Intel Gigabit Network Connection Drivers for Microsoft Windows XP.

Or does it have Intel PRO/1000 in the name of the device?
Intel PRO/1000 GT Drivers for all operating systems.

Not Intel?
Just lists as a Broadcom device?

Skip the next 6 files.
They deal with wireless networking, and Bluetooth.

You want - Broadcom Driver for Windows XP

After you left-click directly on the file name you want, it takes you to another page.
Go to the right of the heading - File name: and sp26992.exe (31MB), and left-click on Download.

A small window comes up.
Opening sp26992.exe
Left-click on - Save File

In the next window that comes up write down what is in the heading.
In the heading tells you where the file will download to.
It may have Desktop, or My Documents, or Downloads in the heading.

Desktop: The file will be on your desktop screen.
My Documents: Left-click on Start, then My Documents.
Downloads: Left-click on Start, then My Documents, then double-click on Downloads.

When you see the file Double-click on it.
Follow the Installation Wizard instructions.
(Essentially just click on Next, Next, and Finish. Windows will put the file in the proper place)

Now restart your computer.

Driver side door window slowly fell down into the door of my 1997 dodge dakota. The glass did not break.

Power or crank? Either case the rails that hold the window on probably broke. there are slides inside the door that keep the window in place, if a slide broke, or if one of the brackets broke, the window will come down. I cant really recomend doing this yourself as ive had the same issue on other vehicles and pulling apart the door and messing with the slides and stuff in there is a real pain. Hopefully it only fell off the track and you can put it back in place. If not, if your not very handly i would suggest taking to someone.

Transfered Powerpoint file (65 slides) onto Ovation - only got the first slide repeatede 65 times?

Here's a fix I did that worked. I had tried to run Ovation with PPT 2007 first, to no avail. Same problem as described here. I uninstalled PPT 2007 and re-installed PT 2003. THEN YOU MUST bring up Ovation, import your PPT slides, THEN click "Tools", "Clear Show Settings". Ovation will re-import the slides but using the components of 2003 and WALLA! It will work.
