Question about Samsung HT-DS610 System

Sound problems/ receiver

I just purchased the Yamaha RX-V363 and I am trying to connect the Samsung HTDS-610 to it. I have managed to get my Cox communications DVR/Ccble box and PS3 to run the sound thru both units but when I put the 610 on CD/DVD I cannot get the sound to run thru the receiver speakers. It only plays sound thru the 610. Is there any adapters that I can purchase or is there a way to hook everything up to run sound the both the 610 and V363 simultaneously on all settings of the 610?

NO., it cant be played thru both when it is in cd/dvd mode because from manufacturing it vl be like that. it cant give its sound to other when in cd/dvd. how am telling is i have YAMAHA yht-165. when i use dvd mode.. the sound wont get thru its output. only works when its in other modes like tuner, md-r, tv, aux.

My yamaha rx-v795a works fine but the display is showing jibberish. What is causing this problem?

There is a Microprocessor(computer) that controls the display. This Micro can be bad, the display can be bad, the connections between the two, as well. For more information, please visit my website at audioserviceclinic.com. Thank you.

I recently purchased a kenwood stereo integrated amplifier model #: KA-5040R and when i got it home the right channel wouldn't work, please tell me whats wrong and if i could fix it my self. ps: this is...

If you're using all of the same equipment how do you know the two amps are the problem? Have you swapped speakers?

We need to treat each integrated amp/receiver as a separate problem for now. Let's start with the Yamaha and tell us all the sources that don't work. Let's not introduce anything into the equation.

Start with onboard FM. What do you hear or observe?

Try a CD player next (on both) and see what happens.

How about headphones?

YAMAHA AV receiver RX-V861 I have the message 'Vol-fix' appearing on Zone 2 and no sound. This was working fine until then

Setting the RX-V861 remote control to operate Zone 2:
  1. Using a ballpoint pen or similar object and press the [CODE SET] button RX-V861 remote control. The[TRANSMIT INDICATOR]on the remote should flash twice.
  2. Using the [NUMERICAL KEY PAD] on the remote and key in 9992, the [TRANSMIT INDICATOR] should flash.
Assigning the receivers internal amp for Zone 2:
  1. Set the remote control selector to [AMP]. (Located to the right of the volume buttons on the Remote.).
  2. Press the [SET MENU]button on the remote control.
  3. Arrow down to Manual Setup and press the Enter button on the remote control.
  4. Arrow to the [SOUND MENU] option and press the [ENTER] button on the remote control.
  5. Arrow to Speaker Set and press the [ENTER] button on the remote control.
  6. Arrow to the EXTRA SP ASSIGN and select ZONE2
  7. Press the [RETURN] button on the remote control to exit out and return to the Manual Setup.
NOTES: There is an option for setting the Maximum Volume and Initial Volume in the Zone Set menu.
  • Max Volume: This is an optional feature but isrecommended to prevent the accidental change in volume levels thatcould damage the speakers and receiver.
  • Initial Volume: This is also a great feature that would seamlessly start the volume level for the second or third zone at the desired level.
We do not recommend using any Speaker Selector boxes to enable more than the recommended number of speakers per terminal.
Controlling Zone 2 using the RX-V861 remote control:
  1. If the Main Zone on the receiver is on, press the [POWER BUTTON]down and while holding that button down press the [PHONO]/[**] button on the remote. The [TRANSMIT INDICATOR] will light up.
  2. You will not be able to use the following buttons on the remote: (Pressing any other button will cause the remote to exit Zone 2 mode. [POWER], [STANDBY], [VOLUME], [MUTE] and the [INPUT SELECTOR] buttons [DVD], [CD], etc.)

There are the instructions as written straight from yamaha. If you need any further assistance please let me know.

You must use the projectors menu to choose the type of input for video out. Your projector is capable of 720p or 1080i high def, but not through s video. If you want high def you must use the component output from your receiver to input on your projector. I hope this helps.
