SOURCE: New Graphics Card

Not too much is a relative term, so I'll leave that up to you. When I want to upgrade parts and pieces, I always check a number of sites to compare prices and reviews. Some of my favorites (and others will have their own favorites) are Tiger Direct, NewEgg, MicroCenter, Geeks.com to name a few. The difference in prices may be just a buck or two on some items, but you'll stumble across really great deals from time to time.

SOURCE: upgrade compatibility continued

hiya

as this pc is skt 775 and has dual core support then it is quite likely that the e5200 will work but may need a bios update to support this cpu...

just goto dells site and choose the pc u have and select drivers then download the lastest bios, transfer it to the dell pc run it as its a self extractor system will reboot perform the update then bobs ya uncle.......pop in new cpu and hey presto cheapo ugrado

#and as for the graphics card you will need to accertain which pcie version u have as most dell pc's only have pcie v1 so wont be able to handle the newer gpu's on the market.......

hope this helps

SOURCE: Installing New Graphics Card. How do you disable the onboard GC?

To disable the onboard graphics go into your CMOS settings and in there you should find something that says Graphics choices should be onboard or add on or some other form. It all depends on who made your BIOS. As far as a sound card not sure.

Will nvidia geforce 210 1gb graphics card work on mercury p4vm800m7 motherboard???

No. The motherboard only supports up to AGP-8X based video cards and the GeForce 210 is a PCIe 2.0. The slots are completely different. There is no slot on the board that will fit that video card.

This video card is good only for office if You need card for multimedia and undemanding games I suggest you:
XFX R7-240A-CLF2 Radeon R7 240 2GB 128-Bit DDR3 Low Profile Ready Video Card. For a little more money offers much better performance, it is equally quiet and has a much better memory bandwidth.

I have to install nfs most wanted on my Dell Optiplex 740 my pc is compatible with this game? and it sys just about graphics card that it should be a Direct10X or better... ialso want to know about...

Question 1 is what operating system are you using

Direct10X is software (from Microsoft) not hardware. Try opening a command prompt and running DXDIAG to find out what versions are installed
If windows then try running Windows update and update any Direct X drivers

Iam using XFX Nvidia Geforce 8500 GT 512MB on my DELL Optiplex GX280.My graphic card was running fine about 4 months but now it is showing no display and my cpu fan shouts very much by putting this...

If the pc works the same when you boot in Safe Mode then the video card has failed - buy a new one.
If the pc works in Safe Mode then the video driver is corrupted - uninstall it then reboot normally then go here and download the latest available driver.

Problem installation video card

Hello Virna, i have that exact graphics card and dell GX270 desktop here at home, tho it has been awhile since i removed the Nvidia PCI card for a more favorable AGP card. From what i remember, first check your BIOS (hit F2 on startup) and select integrated devices, scroll down and make sure your default video output is either PCI (if available) or AUTO) exit saving changes. If that yields no result. Plug in a second monitor to your old integrated video output, if you can view windows after bootup from there, then you can install the proper Nvidia display driver for windows Xp (available here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_175.19_whql.html ). After installing, right click on the desktop, select properties, display settings tab, and make sure the Geforce card is the main monitor and the desktop monitor. Click apply, unplug the integrated VGA output, and restart. Hope this helps.
