I own a HAP424G Air Purifier, and I need to know how to clean it. It has a large, flimsy filter, as well as 2 HEPA/Carbone filters. They've accumulated quite a lot of dust and I need to clean them, but I'm...

If the "flimsy filter you are talking about is a plastic or rubber foam you can clean with mild soap and warm water. Allow it to dry thoroughly before re-installing it. The HEPA filters are disposable items not meant to be cleaned. They are designed to be replaced and they sell filters on their website. In a pinch you could knock or tap in on a counter to knock out the loose debris and then using compressed air "like those sold in a can" can blow off more debris before reusing the filter. This is a temp fix and will reduce the efficiency of the filter and is not recommended unless you simply cannot get another filter.

John, when the clean filter light came on, did you clean the filter? Or just unplugged it and tried again?
In 7 hours, the unit probably picked up a lot of dust, that's why the clean filter light came on. Try cleaning the filter( if you haven't already) and that may solve your problem. When you reinstall the filter, be sure that it is seated properly, so the the safety trigger switch is activated.

Hope this helped you to solve the problem.

I have cleaned the filters, and i still get the Clean Filter message. It is running fine, but the red letters Clean Filter are still there... any suggestions???

How did you clean the filters? I run mine through the dishwasher by themselves and it works pretty good. The tops and bottoms of the filters near the edges need to be wiped pretty clean.

My sister gave me her Brookstone Pure ion Air purifier....The "clean filter" light flashes red....I wiped the filter with a damp think it is clean...?....Is this how to clean it? ....and how do...

Wiping it off won't clean the filter. I submerse mine in hot soapy water ( oxiclean w/any favorite multipurpose liquid cleaner.Let it air dry completely before placing it back in unit.I have tried the dishwasher method and it didn't clean it.I also thoroughly wash all crevices of the unit.If red light doesn't go off, reclean the filter(s). It has all ways worked for me.

Kaz Honeywell Tower Air filter rest light

When the filter monitor light remains on, it is time to check/clean the IFD™ filters and reset the filter
monitor, if needed. With the unit powered on, insert the tip of a ball-point pen or paperclip next to the LED
filter check light and hold for approximately 5 seconds until the light turns off (Fig. 3). Depending upon
your individual usage (environment and hours used), you may need to check and clean the filters more or
less frequently. If the IFD™ filters are cleaned before the filter monitor light turns on, the filter monitor
should be reset at the same time.
