SOURCE: IP address

Hi tammyhope,
I would guess that your ISP is providing a dynamic IP address for connectivity to the internet. If your router is changing the IP address back to default, I would think that your configuration is not setup properly, to receive a dynamic address, but is set with a static address instead. So what happens is that when you attempt to connect to your ISP your router is resetting. If this is the case then you need to go into the router configuration and set it to recieve a dynamic address from your ISP.

SOURCE: Opening the NAT connection for Xbox 360 working through 2 routers

  1. How do you connect your Linksys router to Belkin router? Do you connect your Linksys router to the Internet/WAN port of the Belkin?
  2. If so, what is the Internet connection type set in your Belkin router? Is it dynamic?
  3. If the Belkin router is set to dynamic IP and if it is obtaining an IP address from your Linksys router(you may check the status page of your Belkin router and look for IP address), then you may need to forward or set that IP address as the DMZ to your Linksys router. Make sure that XBOX is still configured as the DMZ host in your Belkin
Hope this helps!

Reset your router back to it's factory settings by holding the reset button for about 5 seconds. I have provided a list of the most popular router brands. If it does not work you may need to google what your specific model's default IP address/default username/default passwords are, for example search for "Encore ENHWI-2AN3 default IP address" The default login info can change, it can depend on where you obtained your router. If you purchased it yourself from a store then the standard defaults should work. If you obtained your router from your Internet Provider you may need to contact your service provider. It also may depend whether it's an old or new model router as well. And you may need to press and hold the reset button on your router several times before it actually clears. Make sure you have a wired connection then once you have accessed your router simply run the Setup Wizard. Set your SSID as something you'll remember like "Mavericks Network" and your Password can be something like your phone number for example 3109876543

Belkin - Username: Leave the field blank Password: Leave the field blank Default IP address is: 192.168.2.1

Buffalo - Username: root Password: Leave the field blank Default IP address is: 192.168.11.1

Need adress to my belkin router

Default IPs for Belkin Routers is http://192.168.2.1/ If you can't access this, you might have to reset your router to factory default. You can do this by holding the reset button on the back of your device. Consult your manual for more detailed information.
Please post your router model for more detailed responses in the future.
Thanks and good luck.

I need to recover the factory IP address for the Belkin, Play, F7D4302 Wireless router. I had changed the Access point from 192.168.2.1. to 192.168.2.254

Locate the reset button of your router. Using a paper clip or some pointed objects press the reset button for more than 30 seconds. You should now be able to recover your factory IP address. Good Luck

Belkin wireless G router incompatible with netgear modem

connect your computer to netgear modem alone and check for the ip address in the computer
(make sure that you have selected "assign ip automatically" in computer)...
to open command prompt type "cmd" and hit enter in run box...
then you can check ip address by typing "ipconfig" in command prompt...
make a note of IP adress or ipV4 address found under the heading "ethernet adapter local area connection"
it might be 192.168.X.X
now connect only the belkinrouter and check for the ip address using the same steps above...
it might be 192.168.2.X
make a note of that...
now compare both the ip addresses if they both have the same value in first three places...that is
192.168.2.... or something like 192.168.1.... or 192.168.0.... then you are facing with double NAT issue...
all that you need to do for that is to change the ip address of belkin router...
if it is 192.168.2.1 change into something like 192.168.15.1...the issue will get resolved....if not you can reset the belkin
router by pressing and holding the reset button for 30 seconds using a toothpick when the power is turned on...

BelkinMIMO wireless router stopped connecting to internet

I just installed a Belkin N1 (model F5D8635-4 v1000) to a Comcast Arris modem in SW Florida by resetting the IP on the router to 192.168.1.1 Comcast assigns 198.168.0.1 (but will accept 192.168.1.1 however not .2.1) and Belkin default is 192.168.2.1. Problem is easy enough to correct by following the instructions for changing the default router IP using a Firefox interface as documented in the user's manual. Note that when applying changes it takes about 30 seconds for changes to be effective.

Belkin Wireless N router/Embarq 660 modem/No internet

Make sure your physical connection is correct. From the modem, the ethernet cable should plugged in to the Internet/WAN port of the router. And your computer to port 1. Access the setup page of the router again and Enable the MAC Address Clone setting. Clone the MAC Address of your PC there then power cycle the router and modem. You should be all set.
