SOURCE: I have a GLEF379DQA glass to stove and I want to

1) Unplug unit 2) Remove back plate covering controls on back of oven 3) Notice 2 brackets, 1 on each end holding 2 screws-remove the screws 4) On front remove 3 screws underneath front ledge directly above where oven door closes 5) lift top up about an inch, and pull forward towards front of oven 6) You can now lift it to service - beware wires are still connected - dont pull too far forward and up

SOURCE: kenmore glass top range left front large burner out

check the burner socket, it is likely that contact is being lost where the burner connects to the hardwired portion of the system (the socket). It is not unusual for the socket to "burn up" when there is a poor connection to the burner resulting in the burner being replaced and the new burner not working or working intermittently.

SOURCE: Maytag Electric Ceramic Glass top stove

You can replace the failed component which is either the burner or the switch that controls the burner. A voltage test would have to be done to determine which compoonent has failed. Generaally it is worthwhile to repair the range.

How to install glass stove lid over burners

The process for reinstalling a glass stove lid over burners may vary depending on the specific model and brand of stove. However, here are some general steps you can follow:
  1. Clean the area where the glass stove lid will be installed. Make sure there is no dirt or debris that could cause the lid to sit unevenly.
  2. Place the glass stove lid over the burners, making sure it is properly aligned with the stove top.
  3. Check the tension of the springs that hold the lid open. If the springs are loose or not working properly, you may need to replace them.
  4. Adjust the tension of the springs by turning the adjustment screws located on the hinges. You may need to use a screwdriver to turn the screws.
  5. Test the tension of the springs by lifting and lowering the glass lid. It should move smoothly and stay open when lifted.
  6. Once the tension is properly adjusted, tighten the screws on the hinges to secure the lid in place.
  7. Test the lid again to ensure it is properly installed and the tension is correct.
If you are unsure about any part of the installation process or have difficulty adjusting the tension of the springs, it is recommended to consult the manual or contact the manufacturer for assistance.

My kenmore glass top stove has one burner that isn't working help

Having the model number would be nice, but you are going to have to remove the top and check the burner element to see if it went bad. To remove the top, unplug it, open the door. Look for screws under the lip where the door closes, check the back for screws, lift the top off,

I need to replace the glass cooktop on my Maytag electric stove

  1. Open oven door and remove two screws that secure top.
  2. Lift up front and slide forward about 8 inches so that you can disconnect two wire couplings.
  3. Place on table upside down(I put newspaper down to catch the broken shards of glass) and remove burner unit (1piece, 4 screws).
  4. Place old burners on new stovetop in the same position as original.
  5. Remove 4 white plastic shims (round) from old stovetop and put on new stovetop.
  6. Tighten all screws and then sit it back on stove (two front tabs fit into slots) and then insert screws into holes and tighten.
  7. Took about 20 minutes, including vacuuming broken glass from inside burners and cleaning grease form crevices between burners and old stovetop.
  8. Wrap old stovetop in the newspapers that are underneath it and place it all in a plastic garbage bag to avoid any broken glass from falling out.

My electric stove top burner only works on high

This is for the glass top units. well i'm not sure if your problem is with your large or small single burner or the large expandable burner. If it's the large or small single burner replace the burner and if it the expandable also replace the burner. If you have a coil burner replace the infinite switch. Good luck hope this helps you.

Burner temp.

If set to high, burners should remain on. If set to medium high let's say, they would be on for maybe 70 percent of the time, off for 30 percent of the time. If set to warm, they might be on only 10 percent of the time, off 90 percent. There is a high temp limiter which could turn a burner off. If you have a burner on high and are cooking on that burner and it goes off, the high temp limiter may be faulty. It is an integral part of the burner, and would require replacement of the offending burner. Burners are individually replaceable after lifting up the glass cook top.

Ceramic/glass top stove

Lift the ceramic top and look at the burnner to see if it is bad or not.
You only have to take 2 screws in the front of the ceramic top at the bottom, just open the oven door and look at the corners.
Don't forget to unplug the stove first
