You will probably have to just buy a Win 7 disk and reload it

How to fix User Profile Cannot Be Loaded

Hi here's what you need to do in a step by step manner
  • Restart your computer and hit F8 multiples times until you see a menu-like screen, if you see the Windows splash screen then repeat this step
  • Highlight and hit enter on Safe Mode with Command Prompt. Try logging in there. If it still doesn't work, then go to step17
  • If you are able to login, once a command prompt pops up, type: net user administrator password/active:yes (you can specify whatever password you want for the administrator account.).
  • If you get a message saying "The command completed successfully", then restart your computer by typing: shutdown -r
  • Boot up again pressing F8, but this time choose just Safe Mode.
  • You will be able to login as Administrator with the password you set in Step 3
  • Hit (windows logo)+R8. Type regedit
  • Once the registry editor opens up, look for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionProfileList10. In the left pane, find the one that starts with S-1-5..... and ends with .BAK; if you don't find one, skip to step 15
  • Right click it and click Rename, then change the .BAK to .BK12. Right click the one with the same numbering but without the .BAK and add .BAK add the end13. Right click the one that you renamed to .BK and clickRename, delete the .BK
  • Eventually, you have switched the .BAK from the end of the second entry to the first. That should probably fix your problem.
  • If you didn't find a .BAK then try this: Open Windows Explorer to C:UsersDefaultAppDataLocalApplication Data
  • If you find another Application Data below the one you're on, then delete it. That should probably also fix your problem.
  • If you can't login in Safe Mode, then reboot and hit F8 until you see the menu again, then hit enter highlightingRepair Your Computer
  • Wait until all Windows Files finish loading, then hitNext when it asks keyboard language.
  • Try logging in here also, choose your user from the dropdown menu, and type the password, then jump to step 23
  • If that still doesn't work, then if you have your Windows Installation CD still, put it in and restart your computer.
  • Hit F12 until you see a menu of boot options, choose Boot from CD
  • Choose keyboard language then hit next. Find Repair Your Computer from a little below the center left.
  • Choose Open Command Prompt and type: net user administrator password /active:yes (here again you can specify a password)
  • Close the command prompt and click Restart and jump to step 5

Acer Desktop Veritron M460 will not load Windows XP or Vista!

This problem may occur if the Ntfs.sys file is missing or becomes corrupted when you convert your hard disk to NTFS To resolve this problem, replace the missing or corrupted Ntfs.sys file:
  1. Use the Windows XP startup disks or the Windows XP CD to restart your computer.
  2. When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press R to select the To repair a Windows XP installation using Recovery Console, press R option.
  3. Type the number of the Windows installation that you want to access from the Recovery Console, and then press ENTER.
  4. Type the administrator password when you are prompted, and then press ENTER. If no administrator password exists, just press ENTER.
  5. At the command prompt, type the following commands (press ENTER after each command): cd \windows\system32\drivers

ren ntfs.sys ntfs.oldNote This step renames the corrupted Ntfs.sys file to Ntfs.old. If the Ntfs.sys file is not found, the file is missing.
  6. At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER: copy cd:\i386\ntfs.sys drive:\windows\system32\driversWhere cd is the drive letter for the CD-ROM drive that contains the Windows XP CD, anddrive is the drive where you installed Windows XP.
  7. Remove the Windows XP CD from your CD-ROM drive, type quit at a command prompt, and then press ENTER to quit the Recovery Console.
  8. Restart the computer.I hope this helps. The other thing I can think of is maybe your harddrive needs a raid driver. If this is a sata drive and an old version of you os,the sata driver may not be already on the disk and you will have to insert one.Let me know if the first solution works,if not we can try the raid driver.

Hi,

Thats a very strange description of a computer crash that my colleague has mentioned. A house of cards would break everything. Somethings CAN be fixed.

If you haven't tried it already try booting the system ito safe mode. You do this by restarting the computer and repeatedly tap the F8 key. this will take you through to a boot screen. Choose Safe Mode.

When in safe mode you need to run a command. In Vista, Win 7 click on the orb and in the search pane type cmd and hit enter. In XP click on the Start menu amd click on Run. In the Run box type cmd and hit enter. A command window will pop up.

In the command window type chkdsk /r and hit enter. The system will ask you to schedule a check next time the computer restarts. type Y and then hit enter. Type exit, anter and restart the computer.

Hopefully the computer will restart and sort the problem out for you. You must remember that this process needs to be babysat. In other words keep your eye on the whole process.

If you need anymore advice please post back.

Good luck.

If you have any windows xp bootable cd use that to fix the problem by running the command chkdsk /r/f or you can try with this just restart the system in safe mode with command prompt and type the command like c:\windows>chkdsk
And
c:\windows>chkdsk /r/f

Dell Optiplex GX280 Bluescreen and Hardrive problem

Insert the Windows XP CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive, and then restart the computer.

Click to select any options that are required to start the computer from the CD-ROM drive if you are prompted.

When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console.

If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot computer, select the installation that you must access from the Recovery Console.

When you are prompted, type the Administrator password. If the administrator password is blank, just press ENTER.

At the command prompt, type chkdsk /r , and then press ENTER.

At the command prompt, type exit , and then press ENTER to restart your computer.

The system should boot back into Windows.

If that doesn't work follow the above steps again but after you type the Administrator password ...

At the command prompt, type fixmbr and continue the next two steps.

THIS SOLUTION IS ONLY FOR A DAMAGED FILE SYSTEM.
