BOSCH SHX46A06UC DISHWASHER WATER IS COLD, DISHES ARE FILTHY

Our dishwasher stopped cleaning our dishes, they now come out dirty every single time we run it. We checked all of the plumbing and everything is perfect, read all of the manuals, and nothing was found out of the ordinary, so today after turning it on, I opened it to see if the water was hot inside, it's ice cold. No wonder our dishes come out filthy. Now what? Is this a simple fix?

    Hi Charlotte,

Thanks for the reply! I took the dishwasher apart and put it back together and didn't see any filter besides the obvious round food filter that you access daily from inside the dishwasher...there was nothing inline with the water...so I'm not sure that I know what you mean?

We still can't get this thing to clean our dishes, it's terrible at it.

We had this a while back - it was something to do with a blocked filter right inside, which meant the hot wasn't coming on. The repair man had to put in a new filter, which had been blocked possibly cos we had been doing quick washes with environmentally friendly detergent, and that solved the problem.

The 'filter' I mentioned was actually a convoluted pipe thing through which I think the dirty water passed and it was all jammed up with junk - v sorry not to be more precise - and it took an engineer to find it - although we are not as practical as you - so what I meant was you may need an engineer to fix your machine. Sorry if I wasn't v clear earlier.

SOURCE: water left in bottom of Bosch dishwasher

One possible solution to your problem could be as follows... Could have been little regular soap or something put in that made it suds up causing it not to drain. Pouring vegetable oil into the dish washer tub will remove the suds. After running vegetable oil for about 5 minutes, pour 2 cups of vinegar in to the tub and run it on the hottest longest cycle with no dishes in it. This will clean the residue out and what ever "gunk" may be in the internal parts. Use Only powder detergent. No gel and No tabs. These 2 cause a build-up over a period of time of use and reduce the performance of your machine. This should take care of your problem.

SOURCE: mold grows on dishes in bosch dishwasher

Put a bowl filled with 2 cups of clorox on the lower rack and run a wash cycle (nothing else in the machine) this will kill the mold spores in the machine, and clear the smell.

It' no longer cleaning my dishes

hello,

If your dishes are coming out of the dishwasher covered by a removable dirty film, your water may not be hot enough, or you could be using an inferior brand of automatic dishwashing detergent. If you have tested your hot water and find it is between 140 degrees and 160 degrees Fahrenheit, consider how long it takes for the hot water to reach the dirty dishes in the dishwasher. If the hot water has to travel a long distance to reach the dishwasher, chances are the water filling the dishwasher starts out cold. To alleviate this problem, run the hot water nearest to your dishwasher until the water coming out is hot. This will guarantee the water filling the dishwasher is as hot as it should be to properly clean dirty dishes.

To remove this type of film from dirty dishes, after running the dishes through a basic rinse cycle, set a bowl filled with a cup or two of white vinegar on the lowest rack of the dishwasher. Remove any metal pans or utensils, and with the vinegar on the bottom rack, wash the dishes as usual. Dirty dishes that were once covered in film should come out squeaky clean

thanks.

Bosch Dishwasher - Model SHU43C07UC --- intermitently shuts off during wash cycle -- restarts later, sometimes several hours later and then finishes cyc'e

Cold water is the only type of water that fills your tub. The machine looks like it stops because it is waiting for the water heater to heat the water in your machine to a highert temperature, enough to get your dishes clean. On that model you can't say very often that your dishes don't get clean.

Food particles are on dishes after washing

Try adding bicarb of soda/baking soda and vinegar in the detergent dispenser. Bicarb fizzes off hardened particles and vinegar strips off grease and aids rinsing.

Dishes are not coming out fully clean

first if the pump is running and you can hear it washing it should clean now hot water cleans dishes not the washer the hotter the better at least 130-135 degrees modern dish washers use less water than older models so if you don't get the water as hot as you can stand it at the sink before you turn the washer on you can fill it with cold water second its important that you use jet dry and if your dishes aren't dry at the end of the cycle then on most washers you can turn the disp up for more hope that helps let me know

Dirty dishwasher

there is a new product out called the dishwasher filtration system. it actually filters the water going into your dishes. the dishes look dirty because your water has a lot of calcium and magnesium in it making them appear cloudy or dirty. the dishwasher filter reduces those minerals and my dishes look perfect now. no more dirty and grimy looking dishes. i also dont waste time washing them by hand before and after the dishwasher. hahaha you can get it at www.dishwasherfilter.com. use code DFMTEN and you will get 10% off. it fits right under your sink and is very affordable. you will be glad you bought this product. thanks
