I had this happen last summer also...replaced water filter and started working again...is the water filter plugged? or does the water get filtered that goes to the ice maker also? is the line frozen?
Would appreciate any suggestions.
I have the same problem, and from what I had read from others, the water line freezes inside of the freezer door. I took a hair dryer and warmed up the front of the door and that solved the problem for a while, then it froze up again. Apparently GE fixed the problem in future units by adding additional insulation in the door

I have the same problem no water but the fridge keeps making ice. My husband will blow out the line with an air compressor & then it will work for a day or somtimes only a couple of hours. How do we permanently repair this?
Icemaker works fine, water line doesn't dispense. We emptied the freezer and turned it off to defrost the line. This worked, but the problem returned after a couple of months.
