Question about RCA M4204 MP3 Player

Wont power up or charge

It came on and said initializing for a several minutes then "died" RCA M4202-a its about five months old.

    the screen on the player wont come on and there seems to be no power ( yes I did charge it ), and when I connect to the computer it does not regester. Its only about 8 months old. thank you.

    had for two months and will not get off of initializing screen, and also will not recognize the computer when plugged into usb.

    Have had my RCA M4204 for 2 months. i started it up. It started to initilize then went blank, now I have nothing. I still get nothing when plugged int the USB. No power. It was a great little player until today, Now I a disapointed in RCA.

    I'm having the same problem, It has worked well for about six months. I tried starting it up and it said it was initializing and stayed on that screen until powering down because of low battery. I've tried to recharge the player and nothing.

Hi, let the battery go flat until it turns off, this will cure it without losing your music etc..

There should be a hold button or a key gurad switch. Make sure there is no song playing and turn the hold or keyguard button, it willturn off in five minutes or less... Please give good ratings, they meen a lot to me..

What i would recommend is for you to reset the device, after you reset the device if you are still having the same problem try to update the firmware...I hope that helps..

Mp3 wont sync with computer need to get program for that to happen again


Go To the RCA website............OR...........Google M4202 Drivers.....Download them, Install them, Reboot.............

THEN TRY IT.

M4202 shows "Initializing" message for 5 sec. and blocks itself


This is the firmware going bad.
You need to go to the RCA website and download the firmware for your player.
After you download the firmware.
Connect your mp3 player to usb device of your pc.
Then install the the newly downloaded firmware.
