Hi.
I'm currently fixing one bought from that famous auction website.
Same symptoms: Standby led, nothing more.
I'm assuming you have checked the 2 obvious fuses...(?)
Mine had the the "thermal" fuse INSIDE the big transformer blown, to check this unplug the yellow and white wires from the small board where the AC in plugs are and measure the transformes primary resistance. (It should be around 13 ohm if transformer is OK.)
If primary is open-circuited things get harder: I had to unscrew the transformer then release it from its fixing plate and "U", break the white plastic close to the core. (where the white an yellow wires enter)
Then the delicate bit: With a fine screw driver / knife loosen the varnish and tape in the small gap where the wires enter without breaking the transformers copper wires. Rewire with a new fuse or like most technicians with no fuse. (In that case you still have overload protection from F601 on the rear board but no thermal protection.)

ITS ON STANDBY MODE & NOT ABLE TO GET ITS DISPLAY

Try this, not sure if the same would work for ya.

Swich off the amplifier.
Prior to the process check the wires connecting the speakers are not creating a short circuit which is apparently putting the amplified into a standy mode.

1. Press the "A" "B" and power key all at the same time and hold on to it.
2. The amp will go into a reset mode and will keep blinking till it gives a normal "click" sound and the amp turns on.
3. this process would take about 2 - 3 minutes.
4. You may then release the buttons.
5. If it goes into a standby mode again and does not power on, or the standby keeps blinking, get assistance from the engineer.
6. Once it is on, you shall need to do the resetting of alll the configurations done earlier.

Hope it works, it costed me 3k to get the job done.

Standby light stays red and will not turn unit on.

Try to reset the macroprocessor. Unplug the unit from AC, hold both buttons SPEAKER A and SPEAKER B and plug the cord in outlet. After display flashes several times release the buttons. No result? - repair shop.

Unable to turn on receiver, marantz sr8002

First unplug unit...now check all consctions in the back of the unit and make sure none of the wires are touching together or touching any metal in back of unit! (speaker wires crossed is the main cause of thie) If this does not fix it it will have to be serviced by a pro!
Hope this does it for you!

Try pressing the power, and multi speaker button at the same time. But first turn the unit off...then press the above buttons at the same time...This is for the SR6001... GH
