Trimmer string uncontrollably comes out. I have rewound string several times and still have the same problem.

Great question! You can always go to the Home Depot and purchase a "universal-type" retro head and if it doesn't fit correctly, just return it for a refund or go on a site like Ebay and buy a genuine Troy Bilt retro type string head. I bet they will fit.

I agree it was not an easy feed process. The single line did not
feed into the individual upper and lower chambers, due to cheap plastic part
design, causing the line to jam on auto feed.
REMOVAL OF HEAD:
I put on a Gator type Universal trimmer
head.
Attempted to hold the shaft/rod, but it twisted and I thought it might break. I used a
needle nose vise-pliers to clamp onto and hold head, at top of factory head. [At bottom of outer
shaft was a black plastic cup/cover; just below is a gap that allows gripping of the
bolt for the head, above the red trimmer head turn knob.] After you vise the bolt, hold the pliers and spin the head
counter-clock wise, unscrewing the head & nut. [It was not very easy breaking the nut loose, by I have light
arthritis and was able to accomplish without other help or tools.

Your String needs to be re-wound. You are almost out of string or your string has Jammed under the Motor and placing a DRAG on the Trimmer

I am using the same size line as always
I am using the recommended line size.
I had this problem when I used the wrong diameter cord. Are you sure you are using the one specified for the trimmer? Are you winding it firmly 'round the spool but not so tight that it wants to retract into the head when you let it go?
