What this means, The control is locked out and will auto-reset after 1 hour. How to fix it, Reset power to clear the lockout. Two LED flashes. What this means ... How to fix it, RED, YELLOW, or ORANGE wire at the gas valve. Status codes 4 + 1.
I found this somewhere else and I was surprised that it worked. Reset to default settings. Press menu, arrow right to the tool menu. Arrow down to Reset All, arrow right to yes. I had tried different batteries, even alkaline to get it to work thinking that my batteries were old and weren't charging the flash. I saw that someone had done the reset all to fix it. I did it and tried to take a picture, the icon flash twice and then the flash charged up and took the picture. I replaced the batteries to lithium and now it charges up right away. I hope that helps.
There is no reset or fix test. Just ensure that the battery is fully charged, and replace the battery. Replacing the batteries already reset the camera. Ensure that you have selected Flash on the menu and shot a picture. If the flash does not start, then usually the small pcb that supplies power to the flash has a blown capacitor. In that case call Olympus number listed on the owners manual. They will give you instructions to validate the warranty and get the camera repaired.
Hi,I know some of the common things for the digital camera. I want you to try these.
-------->If the built-in flash does not function, then the camera may be set to Auto and will only flash when taking pictures in poorly illuminated environments. -------->Set the camera to the Forced flash setting so it will flash regardless of the surrounding brightness.
IMPORTANT: If the Forced flash setting is already enabled and the flash is still not working, then the issue may be due to another camera setting. Even if the Forced flash setting is enabled, the flash will still not work in the following circumstances:
* When shooting MPEG movies * When set to the Twilight mode * If an external flash is connected
The information above should resolve your issue. However, if the issue still persists, you can try resetting the camera to factory specifications. Some cameras have a RESET button built into them or a menu option to reset the camera to the default settings. Refer to the instruction manual supplied with your camera for specific information regarding the availability of a RESET button or menu option to reset the default settings. Otherwise, continue with the manual reset procedure below.
1. Turn off the camera. 2. Ensure the camera is not connected to an AC power adapter. 3. Remove the battery from the camera for 15 seconds. 4. Reinsert the battery. 5. Turn on the camera.
If all the above fails you, then i doubt that Impact damage would have caused the flash not to work. But i know you are not going to like this solution. No other way , you have to contact Nikon service centre for repair.
i hope this helps to fix your problem. Thanx for using fixya.
Make sure you try and reset the camera to the factory default settings. There may be a setting that you are using that has disabled the flash functionality. To reset the camera - have the camera in shooting mode - press the menu button - left arrow to reset and press ok - you will see reset yes or no - highlight yes and press ok - camera will be back in factory settings - see if flash is able to work now.
I figured out how to fix the flash... but not the clicking sound in the lens. To fix it... click the mode button, then go to the settings icon (the arrow pointing at the wrench), then keep going down to the reset all part. and click okay while your on it. Your flash should work after that!
Try resetting the camera. If that doesn't work then it would have to be sent in. In the picture taking mode pess menu and go to the setup tab. Go down to reset and press the right arrow. HIghlight ok and then press select. If that doesn't work then send it in to be fixed.
Press menu and go to setup tab. go down to reset press right arrow highlight reset press ok
If that doesn't work then you will have to send it into repairs because there maybe something electrically wrong with the flash. Resetting usually takes care of it. :)
