Print heads not aligned - Canon PIXMA MP600 all-In-One InkJet Printer

    Cannot solve clogged print heads by cleaning either normal clean or deep clean....possibly need new print head. Have also tried to manually adjust the print head, but this does not work either.

Write click on printer logo on printer and faxes in start menu to setting goto prefrences and align

Says problem with alignment. Remove tape from cartridge or check troubleshooting. There is no tape on cartridge so what should I do?


It may mean the print head alignment rather than the cartridge
Check properties on printer in control panel and see if there is a head alignment option.
If there is it will print out an alignment page that you can compare to see if alignment is out on the print head.

I have changed all ink cartridges on my canon pixma ip4200 printer and it now doesn't work, the green and amber lights flash for 11 times and the cartridge carrier doesn't move. Please can someone advice...

Automatic Print Head alignment failed
Possible causes are as follows:
6128_image_6.gif A4 or Letter-sized paper is not loaded on the Auto Sheet Feeder.
Press the RESUME/CANCEL button on the printer to clear the error, then load one sheet of A4 or Letter-sized paper in the Auto Sheet Feeder.
Automatic print head alignment cannot be performed using paper from the Cassette. For automatic print head alignment, always load paper in the Auto Sheet Feeder.

6128_image_6.gif Print Head nozzles are clogged.
Press the RESUME/CANCEL button on the printer to clear the error, and then print out the nozzle check pattern to examine the print head condition.

For information on how to print a nozzle check pattern, see "Printing the Nozzle Check Pattern."

6128_image_6.gif The Paper Output Slot has been exposed to a strong light source preventing correct Print Head alignment.
Press the RESUME/CANCEL button to clear the error and move the printer to a darker location.
After carrying out the above measures, if the problem continues after aligning the Print Head again, press the RESUME/CANCEL button to clear the error, and then perform manual print head alignment. For details on manual print head alignment, see "Manual Print Head Alignment."

Alignment failed when run


If Printer heads health condition is not good, alignment wont completes..
Four individual cartridges & Two print heads, each print head prints two colors.. Black& Yellow, Cyan & Magenta.. Verify which color is not printing properly(Color missing Or white bands)..
Perform 2 or 3 times print head cleaning through printer menu..Try for alignment.. If success end.. if no, replace the print head which is not printing properly.. Before replacing the printer head ensure that cartridge ink should be above 30%...

Will not proceed with reallignment--says to insert paper and press ok but then it doesn't do it.


This device having auto alignment Technic,If print heads are clogged it will not print align page properly result alignment will not completed. In this condition it will ask for align print heads when ever printer switched on. To over come from this situation clean print heads fist, manually or though tool box, then try for align. If printer heads are out of health condition replace faulty print heads then perform align process.

Wrong cartridge error code on canon pixma mp780 printer


Reseating the print head is seldomly needed to be done.Press the Open Button (1) to open the Paper Output Tray (2) Raise the Scanning Unit until it stops. Pull and hold the Scanning Unit Lever towards you, then raise the Scanning Unit.The Print Head Holder moves to the middle Open the Inner Cover 1.Open the Inner Cover 2.CAUTION: a. Do not try to manually move or stop the Print Head Holder.b. Do not touch any metal parts.Press the ink tank's tab (1), then remove it from the slot (2) IMPORTANT:Handle ink tanks carefully to avoid staining clothing or the surrounding area. Lift up the lock lever and take out the print head.Again, place the print head back in position and press down the lock lever. Insert the ink tank into the empty slot on the print head. Press down gently on the ink tank until an audible click is heard. Make sure the ink tank is in the correct slot IMPORTANT:a. Make sure that the ink tank is inserted in the slot that corresponds to the ink tank's color.b. How to configure printhead alignment


Hi there, Aligning the Print Head

If ruled lines are misaligned or a printout is unsatisfactory,Print Head Alignment is required.

Steps for Aligning the Print Head.
1) Press [Menu] repeatedly until [Maintenance] appears.
2) Press [Maintenance] repeatedly until <P> appears.

3) Press [Black] or [Color].
The machine print the head alignment sheet.

4) Beginning from column A on the printout, enter checkmarks in the patterns that have the most solid image.

5) Load the checked sheet on the Platen Glass.
When loading the checked sheet, place the front side down, and align the upper left corner of the sheet with the alignment mark on the lower right corner of the Platen Glass.

6) Press [Maintenance] repeatedly until <U> appears,

7) Press [Black] or [Color].
The machine scans the pattern and aligns the Print Head automatically.
Note : If you select <L>in step 2, the machine prints the current Print Head Alignment setting.

Carryout a Manual Print Head Alignment If Possible.

Manual Print Head Alignment

If the results of Automatic Print Head Alignment are not satisfactory, follow the procedure below to perform Manual Print
Head Alignment.


1 Make sure that the machine is turned on, and then load three sheets of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper in the Auto Sheet Feeder or the Cassette.

Important. You cannot print the print head alignment pattern if paper of size other than A4 or Letter is loaded. Be sure to use A4 or Letter-sized plain paper.

2 Open the Paper Output Tray, and then open the Output Tray Extension.
(1) Put your finger in the rounded indent of the Paper Output Tray and open it gently.
(2) Open the Output Tray Extension.
3 Press the Paper Feed Switch to select the paper source where you have loaded paper.
4 Select Settings on the HOME screen.
5 Select Maintenance, then press the OK button.
The Maintenance screen is displayed.
6 Select Manual head align, then press the OK button.
The confirmation screen is displayed.

Note. If you select Head alignment print, the machine exits the process after printing the current head position adjustment values.

7 Select Yes, then press the OK button.
8 When the Print Head alignment pattern is printed, select Yes, then press the OK button.
9 Look at the printout. From the patterns, select the most even, least irregular patterns for each column and input their numbers. Press the OK button.
(1) Select a column to input the pattern number.
(2) Use the or button to input the number of the pattern.
(3) Repeat the steps (1) and (2) until you finish inputting all pattern numbers, press the OK button.

The print head alignment can be performed automatically or manually. If the automatic print head alignment does not work, adjust the print head manually. Automatic Print Head Alignment
  1. Press <ON/OFF> to turn on the machine.

  2. Load a few sheets of letter-sized plain paper in the auto sheet feeder.

  3. Press the Open button to open the Paper Output Tray. Then open up and set the extension by pressing down the hollow on the front side.

  4. Execute automatic print head alignment.
    1. Press <COPY> button.
    2. Press <Menu> repeatedly to select [MAINTENACE].
    3. Press the left or right cursor to select [AUTO HEAD ALIGN], then press the <OK>. (A pattern is printed and the print head is automatically aligned. It takes about five minutes to finish printing the pattern.)
