Forwarding filter does not work. - Google Gmail

I have the same issue. In gmail you can apply filters. Depending on some criteria, you can star a message, mark it as read, delete it -- or forward it.
Every action works -- except forwarding.
Example: Create a filter "From: 'John'" and forward to: "other@email.com".
    Nothing is forwarded...
    Can someone help?

    Hi,
I have the same issue. In gmail you can define filters and filter e.g. messages from a specific sender and define an action for it.
The action can be to mark it as read (works), star it(works), or delete it (works). Or it can be forwarding to another address. This does not work...
    Can someone help?

I have an account with an online service that automatically sends me e-mails. My e-mail address is listed as the sender and I am also the recipient. I have tested and it appears that gmail filters do not forward messages where the sender is the same as the recipient. Is there a fix to this?

Could you be more specific? What part of forwarding are you having trouble with? What type of filter are you trying to apply? Thanks for using Fixya!

I've done some testing, and it looks like the email is indeed being forwarded, but that there is no way of knowing this from within Gmail.

Even though your mail is forwarded, it will not show up in Sent Items and there will be no forwarded message in your "conversation".

Furthermore, the recipient of the forwarded email will see the original sender in the From: field and the original recipient in the To: field.

The subject line will NOT have FW: or FWD: in front.

Hope this helps.

My emails are not being received

There are a number of reasons why messages may not arrive in your inbox, including any custom filters you may have created, or forwarding. Messages can also skip your inbox and end up in your All Mail, Spam, or Trash labels, as the result of automatic spam filtering in Gmail. My messages skip the inbox Check the link for more help.

How do I set up another Gmail account. I don't want to delete my other. I just want another domain email.

Sign out of your gmail account. Create a new account.

To receive emails from the second account
Next, in order to see emails sent from your secondary to your primary account, you should set up forwarding. Keep in mind that you can also forward emails from your primary to your secondary account should you want all messages from both emails in both inboxes. To set up forwarding:

1. Click the gear in the top right.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.
4. Click Add a forwarding address in the "Forwarding" section.
5. Enter the primary email address
6. For your security, we'll send a verification to that email address.
7. Open your primary email account (signing out of the secondary account), and find the confirmation message from the Gmail team.
8. Click the verification link in that email.
9. Back in your secondary account, refresh the page.
10. Select the Forward a copy of incoming mail to option and make sure your new forwarding address is listed in the first drop-down menu.
11. In the second drop-down menu, choose what you want Gmail to do with your messages in that secondary account, such as keep Gmail's copy in the Inbox or archive Gmail's copy.
12. Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.

How do I get my home phone number to ring on my cell phone while I am on vacation

It's called "call forwarding" and the procedure varies from company to company. With many, dial * 7 2 on your home phone, then at the second dial tone dial your cell phone number. Answer your cell phone when it rings to confirm the call forwarding. To cancel call forwarding when you return from vacation, dial * 7 3 on your home phone.
If the above doesn't work then contact your landline telephone company for their instructions regarding call forwarding.

How do I forward yahoo email automatically to another email address

You can obviously forward your emails to the other account; all you have to do is enabling of the forwarding message settings in your account. All you have to do is "click on settings":

If you are using gmail you will see "forwarding imap/pop or forwarding tab"; click on it you will have to enter the yahoo email address on which you want to forward the mails and then a verification code link will be sent to that email by clicking on which you will be able to forward the mails to yahoo.

If its outlook, you have to go for the "email forwarding tab" and enter the yahoo mail address on which you have to forward your mails and then a verification code link will be sent to that email by clicking on which you will be able to forward the mails to yahoo.

You also can set up filters to forward messages that meet specific criteria. You can create 20 filters that forward to other addresses and can also maximize your filtered forwarding by combining filters that send to the same address.

I have a problem not to receive messages?

The best thing to do first is check with the sender to make sure that they actually sent the message.
If they have sent it, here's a list of conditions that will stop that email from getting through to you. If any of them describes your situation, you'll find instructions on how to resolve the issue just below. Hopefully, one of these will do the trick!
Incorrectly typed email address
Is the sender using your correct email address? Just one mistyped letter will cause an email to go to the wrong address or make it undeliverable. Ask them to double-check that they entered your address correctly.
Sender's email not functioning properly
Can this sender successfully send messages to other people? The problem could be on their end, with sending. Ask them to check.
Inbox needs refreshing ( Yahoo! Mail Classic)
New email often arrives while you're writing or reading another email. The all-new Yahoo! Mail updates your Inbox for you, so if you use it, you'll always see new mail when it arrives. But in Yahoo! Mail Classic, you won't see this new mail in your Inbox until you Refresh or Reload the page, or return to the Welcome Screen, or click Check Mail.
Note: Yahoo! Messenger shows an alert each time a new email arrives.
One of your filters could be directing the email into a folder
If you've set up filters, the message from this sender might be going directly to a different folder from your Inbox. Here's how to check your filters:
  • Click Options in the upper-right, and select More Options.
  • Click Filters.
  • See anything that might be capturing the mail you've been looking for?
  • Note: Messages in Trash can be deleted at any time. Once messages are deleted, they're gone forever, and can't be retrieved.
You're forwarding your mail to another email address
If you're forwarding your mail, it's going to another email address. Here's how to check:
  • Click Options in the upper-right corner of the page, and select More Options.
  • Under "Management", click POP Access & Forwarding.
  • Is the lower half of the page (Forwarding) selected? If so-and if you would like to discontinue it:
  • Click the radio button for "Web and POP Access" at the top of the page.
  • Click Save.
You're blocking this user
The sender's address might be on your Blocked Addresses list. Mail from blocked senders doesn't arrive or bounce-it's simply discarded. Here's how to check your Blocked Addresses list:
  • Click Options in the upper-right corner of the page and select More Options.
  • Under "Spam", click Block Addresses.
  • Scan the list for the address of the sender. If you see it, click it, then click Remove Block.
There's a delay in delivery
Messages are usually delivered within a few minutes. Very rarely, they are delayed while in transit. This is usually due to problems on the sender's mail server, heavy Internet traffic, or routing problems. Unfortunately, aside from waiting, there's no way to know whether a message has been delayed or whether it has been rendered undeliverable. If a sender can re-send it, have them do that.
No matter what the cause, the best solution is to ask the sender to re-send the message.

Can't receive mail

Are you accessing your Gmail account through Web or did you configure it in an e-mail client like Outlook 03/07, Outlook Express?

If you're accessing your Gmail using Web, there should be no problem. But I think that you are using Outlook. If you do, just change the Incoming port number. If it's set to 110, then change it to 993.

However, you need to check also if you set up the forwarding feature of your Gmail to forward the messages into an alternate e-mail address.

On your Gmail, click on Settings > Forwarding and POP/IMAP and
make sure that forwarding is disabled.

Have a great day!

Forward emails from yahoo.com to ymail.com

Yahoo free version doesn't have the POP forwarding like it used to. You would have to upgrade to the mail plus in order to set up the forwarding.
Let me know if this helps.
