SOURCE: water coming out of the drawer
I have had this problem on the WD860 washer drier and it sounds more or less identical - the problem is that lint and general clothing material (and I'm sure some slightly less clothe-like items) are blocking the filter in the water pump that sends the water out of the machine. Now the only problem I have is that this was previously discovered by a Hotpoint engineer and promptly dealt with under the warranty, however I do not know how to get back in to the water pump housing (without damaging it) to clear out the new filter blockage. The waterpump is located to the rear of the machine on the right hand side (from the back) at the bottom of the drum - it is quite easy to access with a philips head screwdriver to remove the back panel, however then comes the problem - the water pump appears to be part of an all-in-one sealed unit that runs from the drum to the waste pipe and I can't figure out how to access it without causing damage. (Admins may wish to move this post to the as yet non-existent WD860 section - but the problem does sound identical to the one that floods my kitchen more or less everytime I use the damn thing!)

Look under the washer tub where the drain hose comes out and attaches to the pump. Your pump impeller is either clogged or worn out. Try removing the pump and checking from there.

The error message "Err" usually indicates that the wash program and option are not compatible. 40 degrees and 900 rpm Spin should be o.k.. I would try another wash program with no special options and see if the problem goes away.

Could still be the water inlet valve. What you need to do is pull the washer out where you can get to the valve and the plug. Unplug the inlet valve and start the washer and when you start it as normal check the volts of the plug and see if its 110 if it is you know that the valve is getting power to open but not, replace the valve. If you dont get any voltage then it could be the relay or control board
