Question about Samsung Televison & Video
I have a 37" Samsung LCD. You'll be watching a program (TV or DVD) and the screen will go blank but you'llstill have audio. If you turn the TV off then on again the picture will come back but then it will happy again in about 15 minutes. I got the TV new in December so it's less that 2 months old. Any suggestions?
If you shine a lamp at an angle on the screen, can you see a faint image? If you can, then the backlight has gone out. If your picture has acquired a pinkish tinge while it is working "normally", this would be a strong indication that one of the fluorescent tubes in the backlight is going bad. Inverter failure is another possibility.
Samsung has a 1 year warranty. The catch is that you have to take it either to the dealer or to a factory-authorized service center to collect, and "The original dated bill of sale must be presented upon request as proof of purchase to SAMSUNG or SAMSUNG's authorized service center." You need to contact Samsung Customer Service before taking the TV in for repair.
