Forget the yellow wire. Its for wiring WITHOUT an alarm. Connect the red to a fused 12 volt and the black to the orange "ground when armed" of the Avital 5303.

SOURCE: Avital 2200 Car Alarm caused BCM Malfunction

Yes it is true that dealerships will always blame aftermarket installments and installers hands down. That being because they can try to void your warrenty that way. Now is it possible the system triggered your BCM? yes it has happened in the past but if they were an Authorized dealer they would have the information telling them how to avoid that problem. Now I would say this if the dealer cost you $598 for a new BCM first make sure you got the old BCM from the dealership. Then I would take the old one to the Authorized dealer and have them shell out the $598 because they were the ones that had the BCM fail not you and also that is what they pay for insurence. There insurence will cover their mistake. hope that helped.

If your vehicle parking lights are working at the switch then, the inline parking light fuse(15 amp) of the Avital unit may be blown.

8 wires on my subwoofer??

"One has positive and negative input, another positive and negative output (red and black on each)"

Just from your description, it sounds like pos/neg input are the 12 volt pos neg supply for the amp inside the subwoofer. Red is pos, black is neg.

"positive and negative output (red and black on each)"

This sounds like it's used if you want to proved 12 volt pos/neg to another component.

"and a third wire with left input right input positive and negative (blue, red, yellow and black)"

This is for the cables coming from the "subwoofer out" on the amp. This is 4 wires altogether -- correct?
