SOURCE: I have a whirlpool duet sport that is overflowing

You could have a clog in the housing underneath the dispenser where the water flows through a hose into the tub.
Pull the dispenser drawer completely out.
There is a tab that needs to be depressed to release the drawer and remove it.
Check the opening at the bottom of the housing just inside the dispenser housing opening to see if a small sock or garment is clogging this opening.
Reach down into this opening to see if an item is inside the hose.
This is the normal issue that will cause water to leak out of the dispenser housing.

Wash the dispenser drawer thoroughly with warm water. Make sure that you pull off the siphon covers and wash all siphon holes. This process is described in your owner's manual. Replace the dispenser drawer and try the washer again.

Water is coming out the front were you put soap in

Check for a possible clog that would cause the water to shoot out. It very well could have something blocking it or just a build up of soap. I hope this helps you. Thank you for using FixYa.

Whirlpool duet is overflowing from the soap drawer at the beginning of the cycle

That is VERY unlikely, the gasket can not be seen from the inside view without removing the soap dispenser. It may be an oring or gasket. Do you have a hard water situation there? Otherwise, I would check with the manufacturer and see if there was a recall on this particular model number. The most obvious and silly solution is to check that there is no obstrution in the path of the water wand.

A sock was in between the two tubs blocking the water going tnto the main tub. This caused the water to backup and overflow in the soap dispencer..and all over the floor I then put my hand in between the two tubs and pulled the sock out. Thanks to the expert group for giving me this solution.

Dark dirty spots on some clothing items appears on every load.

what you are seeing is suds getting back onto the clothes. make sure you are using HE type soap and not using too much of it.
if you are seeing suds inside the unit, when it is running, then it will "re-deposite" dirty soap residues back onto the clothes.
you need to run a rinse and spin cycle or even a heavy duty cycle with hot water to rinse out any soap that is left in the unit.
not a major problem, just use it differently and it will be ok.
