SONY CDX-SW200 only tunes into odd frequencies?

Hi All,

Just got given the above stereo, however it will only tune into odd numbered frequencies (e.g. 101.1) I need it to track the European style even numbered frequencies, as most of the stations I listen to are on those, Kerrang for example is on 105.2

Is there a way that i can adjust the stereo? I've tried manual tuning, but it only ever tunes to the odd frequencies.

Not unless he unit is capable. I know that Cadence made their decks with this feature, and I haven't seen anyone else as of a year ago.

Changing tuning frequncy from odd to even No. Kenwood KDC-MP228

Most car stereo (stereos in general) won't tune to even numbers. If you're having problems tuning in your station then you're either too far away or you should take a look at your antenna.

Pioneer DEH-P690UB FM tuning problem

Pioneer have factory set your DEH-P690UB to 0.2Mhz steps to match the American FM frequency allocations. The fix is not casual as it requires complete disassembly of the head unit and repositioning of two surface mount resistors. This will void any warrantee and unless you're good at microscopic soldering could also ruin the set. I did however void my 2 year warrantee yesterday partly out of frustration and because I have the right SMT tools at work. Now my tuner CPU thinks it's in the Austrailian/Asian model DEH-P7950UB and is also compatible with UK stations. A previously hidden menu is also available where I can set either 0.1 or 0.05Mhz stepping for FM and 9 or 10KHz for AM BSM scanning. The rotary control now steps in 0.05's instead of odd 0.2's on FM Hope this helps.

Sony CDX-SW200 AM/FM/CD unit

I'm not completely certain about yours, but on most Sony decks you can get to a manual tuning mode by pressing and holding the seek buttons. In other words, if you press and release the tuning button, it will automatically jump to the next channel. If you press and hold the button for a second, it should beep and possibly start flashing an "M" on the screen. After that, it should stop scanning when you release the button, without jumping to the next station.
