How do you stop a power flush toilet from constantly running?

You'll have to see if the water is leaking past the flush stopper or into the overflow tube. The tube is the little pipe where water drains if the tank is filled too high. The flush stopper is a rubber flapper mounted on the bottom of the overflow tube. If water is running into the tube, then the flush valve may be stuck, so shake it up and down (gently) and hopefully it will be freed. If water is not running into the tube, then reach down and try to seat the flapper stopper to see if something was lodged there to keep it from seating all the way. Would be a simple fix either way.

Backed Up Kitchen Double Sink Fix with Garbage Disposal- Quick and Simple Fix

Here's how to fix a backed-up double sink (running water down one side/sink causing dirty water to well up out of the drain on the other side, with slow or no emptying). Note that this quick-and-easy tip only works if you have a functioning garbage disposal.

What you will need: a stopper, and possibly a clean toilet plunger (the cup-shaped kind that stands on its own, not the kind that is bulb-shaped)

Stopper up the side in which the water is rising up out of the drain. Make sure you hold down the stopper as well; if you don't, the stopper will shoot up on a geyser of dirty water when you perform the next step. Once you have the stopper in place and are holding it down, run water on the other side/sink and turn on the garbage disposal. Once you have done that for a reasonable amount of time, shut off the garbage disposal and water, and unstopper* the other side. Run water on both sides to make sure everything is draining properly. Doing this should save you the hassle of taking the pipes apart or plunging one side repeatedly to clear the clog.

*Note: If the stopper is stuck, place the plunger so it completely covers the opening the stopper is stuck in and give it two good plunges. The plunger should create a vacuum that will suck out the stopper, and is more effective than you trying to pry or pull on it. Do this ONLY after you have shut off the garbage disposal and water.

What is happening is that there is a clog in your pipes. When water goes down one side, it hits the clog somewhere in the pipes, has nowhere to go, and gets pushed back up the pipe leading to the other side of the double sink. By stopping up the side without the garbage disposal, you are creating a barrier preventing the water from coming back up. At the same time, the garbage disposal running on the other side is forcing the water down. Since the water now cannot escape up the stoppered side, it has nowhere to go but down, forcing the clog out with it.

Simple Removal of Stuck Sink Stopper

I found an easy solution to removing a stuck stopper recently when I was fixing my kitchen sink and the stopper became vacuum-stuck. Instead of trying to pull on it (which will not work since the pressure is too great), or trying to release the vacuum by prying up an edge with a knife or other instrument (which would damage the stopper or sink), I used a (clean) toilet plunger to plunge the stopper out. Simply place the plunger squarely over the opening where the stopper is stuck and give it two good plunges. I got the stopper stuck several times while fixing the sink and this trick worked every time for getting the stopper unstuck. Make sure you are using a plunger that's cup-shaped (stands upright on its own), and not the kind that has a bulb at the end.

89 acura legend tail lights stuck on. how to fix?

Tail lights or brake lights? Most common is the brake light switch stopper breaks off so the brake light switch doesn't shut off. This is above the brake pedal. Look on the floor for small broken plastic pieces. The stopper is only a few dollars, pretty easy to pop in place.

The strainer/stopper is stuck in the kitchen sink the sink has a disposal unit attached. How do I remove it from the top

We just experienced the problem describe in this question. A dinner guest pushed the strainer stopper past the Blanco flange over the disposer and the stopper could not be removed by pulling straight up. The Blanco flange is difficult to remove so we knew that removing the flange would be a last ditch effort. I tried using several tools trying to deform the stopper enough to lift past the lower part of the flange but without success. While I was on the internet looking for a solution, my wife found the obvious answer. She pushed the stopper down into the disposer, rotated it 90 degrees. She then aligned the edges of the stopper with two of the small indents in the lower part of the flange. The stopper was then pulled up past the flange where only two points on the circumference of the stopper contacted the flange.
Kudos to her for this simple solution.

Parking brake stuck on down position

Hi,

Looks like your release button on the handle lever is stuck!

You could fix it by removing the bolts on the base of the lever, free up the cable by looking at the slot were the cable stopper enters. Check the spring and the button. It might need only some WD 40 oil or grease up the stopper , sping, and the release button.

Hope that helps yu out!

Thanks for seeking help in Fixya!

Door stopper stuck in vaccum

I would first check down by the brush roll, take off the plate so you can get to the inlet to see if it stuck there, could be in the hose or the bag tube. Could be that it damaged the motor fan, you have to remove the motor to check it. If You had listed the model number, it would have been alot of help.
