My users are having an issue using the scanner part of our 2232c. All was well until a user code window appeared once you hit the scanner button. I have logged in the service mode area, but I still have the issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated to clear the user code out. Thanks.

Re: Ricoh 2232c user code issue
Press user tools counter. Go to the key operator section. Look for the user codes settings. There is a screen in there that tells the copier when to use the user code (copy, print, fax, scanning).
Where the scanner section is make sure it is disabled or off.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

After extracting the files and getting the error message that you OS is not supported, browse to the Companion Pro LL V2_0_4 folder and open the Companion folder. Double click setup, and only install the Printer and scanner drivers when prompted. The default location that the software is saved to is listed below...

Ricoh uses error codes in order to alert users that there is a problem with the functioning of the copier. Codes that begin with "SC" refer to issues with the fuser components, which heat up to bind the toner or ink to the paper. While clearing the code can be accomplished by most users, it is important to point out that clearing the code does not fix the problem. Codes that reappear should be addressed by a certified Ricoh technician.
1 Press the "Clear Modes" button. This button will be on the main panel.
2 Press the "1,0,7" keys in succession. You do not have to hold the buttons down together but need to press and release them in this exact order
3 Press and hold the "Stop" key. You will need to hold this button down until the Ricoh enters service mode. The touch screen display will say "service mode" and three soft keys will appear.
4 Press the "Exit" button. This button will be on the touch screen display in the upper right hand corner. Once pressed, the copier will return to normal operation mode.
5 Turn off the main power. The main power button will be located on the side or front of the copier.
6 Turn the power back on. Once the copier is powered back up, the service code will be cleared.

I don't believe this is a user servicable part. You are going to need to call a local Ricoh technician.
From their site; Support is available on the use or operation of your printer/scanner at
1-800-742-6438 or you may email your question (s) to Ricoh38@ricoh-usa.com.
Please have your serial number available to expedite service.
Press the clear modes key.Press the clear/stop key more than 3 sec untill the user tool menu appears on the touch pannel.Select the menu number to use by touching the touch pannel display. If the copier is set to use user code function operators must input their user codes before the machine can operate. The copier keeps count of the number of copies made under each user code.User tools 8-9-10-11 are for the user code mode, when you want to use these user tools you should enter the key operator acces code first.
Please connect me for other detailes or help.
Normally there is no code required to use the machine unless someone has enabled the user code/accounting function. Also sometimes someone will set these machines up to require a user code for color copies.
goto www.ricoh-usa.com and download desktop binder. Restart your computer. Then use the setup options to link the copier to desktop binder.
Another way to do it is to skip the twain software altogether and use a shared folder on your computer. Your 2232 can link to that folder if smb is installed on your copier.
The way to find out is to press the user counter/tools button. Select key op tools. Go to address book management. Select new program. See if folders appears. If it does press the button and select the browse button to see if it can find any computers on your network.
Your computer should have a shared folder with no restrictions to it. Windows firewall should be turned off. You copier must be connected via ethernet cables. Firewall protection should only be on the router.
