SOURCE: need to connect dvd player

Red is right channel, White is Left Channel, and Yellow is video.  If you just got the TV and DVD player its a pretty simple setup.  Just look on the back of the DVD player and hook the yellow cord to video and hook the other end to video on your TV.  Now just plug in the red and white cords to the audio on the back of the DVD player and connect the other ends to audio on the back of the TV.  You can bypass these connections and just get a HDMI cable which has video and sound all in one convenient cord, but they cost more.  You just connect the cord on the back of the DVD player where it says HDMI and then plug the other end to the TV where it says HDMI.

How do I hook up this flat screen tv to my dvd

TV,s and DVD,s usually provide wiring diagrams to connect them together. Basically the "output" Connections of the DVD will go to the same "Input" connections on the TV. Most are colour coded. Red to red, blue to blue, yellow to yellow. These connections are usually marked Sound Left, Sound right, and video. If the DVD and the TV both have separate sound and video connections, or an "s" video output / input , use those as you will get a better picture and sound. For the standard RCA plug connections all you will need is the standard 3 colour lead to connect them. If you have the fancy S Video connections , you will need the special cable for this. Any good TV sales or electronic sales shop will have them.

Why does my emerson 32In TV not find a channel for the DVD player that is running?

Check all the input connections once again. Check input cords. Change the cord and check. Sounds you have connected it to receive signals as AV. Select the input at TV to AV. If colors of the wire connected doesn't match the colors of the sockets at both TV and DVD end; this type of fault can occur. Anyway, check the connections and the colors of socket & wire do match, once again.
If all are found ok; and still you do not get signals, the main board to your TV should be troubleshooted. Contact any service technician.

I have a coby dvd 224 player connected to Emerson tv, and all I see on screen word video and no picture.

if you're using RCA video cables red white and yellow plug the yellow wire from the DVD player into the green input on the TV and then plug the two audio cables red and white into the same input red and white on the TV it's the green one that carries the video signal this is generally call the component input because it breaks down the colors into their components most DVD players do not have component outputs but if you hook the green and the yellow from the DVD player you should get a picture

Make sure tv input is set for the slot you plugged the DVD

Most of the time DVD player is working when TV is on channel 2 or 3 .

the philips DVD player output gives three wire RED,WHITE,YELLOW accrording to them connect the red & white wire to the TV's red&white wires which is responsible for audio output from the dvd player,
then connect the yellow wire to the yellow inlet of the TV, which is either on the front pannel or back side of the television which is provides the video signal from the DVD.

How do i hook up my dvd player

Hello,

Get the appropriate cord for connecting the DVD player to the TV.

The chord should be three joined together. Its called an AV wire. It has yellow, white and red color at the mouth of the pin.

The yellow is for Video (Visual) while the red and white are for audio (sound).

Since the DVD is to show on the TV, the wire has to be connected as follows:

  1. Insert the yellow wire in to the yellow part of the video out of the DVD.
  2. Insert the white and red wire in to the white and red part respectively to the audio out of the DVD.
  3. Connect the other part of the yellow wire to the input of the TV
  4. Connect the white and red wire to input like wise.
  5. Put on the TV and select to AV from the TV remote and you will see a display of your DVD at the background of the TV.
At this stage you can start watching.

Take care.

check your connections on the back of the tv and back of the dvd player. make sure you are using the proper conections on the back of the tv. if you connect the RCA (composite) cables (red yellow white) you should be going from the red yellow white on the tv to the red yellow white on the dvd player. if you have the component(red blue green) connection on the dvd connected to the red yellow white on the tv, you may get a black and white picture. If this does not work, check the manual for the dvd player and see if there is a way to turn "Progressive Scan" features off, some older TV's cannot handle a progressive scan dvd player.
