Question about Washing Machines
Hi. I've been wanting to use the Drain/Spin programme to spin-dry a bath mat (which I hand washed and squeezed out). On previous occasions I've done this successfully, but now it won't spin up to the selected speed (600), perhaps only reaching 100 rpm. There's almost no visible wobble in the drum which may have indicated an unbalanced load. If I empty the drum and use the same settings it spins up okay. Draining seems unobstructed, and no error codes are displayed. Do these machines have a sensor for unbalanced loads which can become over-sensitive? It's coming up to 7 years old. Thanks for any advice.
That is normal for front load washers. It doesn't have a sensor to detect unbalanced load. The computer can detect through the motor that load is not equal so that it will not kick in to high spin and shake the machine to pieces. Put in some towels or something else with it to balance it out and it will spin. I have owned a laundromat for 10 years and I have speed queen horizon machines and they are the same way. People are always washing rugs in them and they do the same thing. Just be sure to clean the button trap on the pump at least once a year

In fact there are sensors that can detect higher vibration and there by control the speed. It must be seen if this is available on your model. Please check the capacitor to the motor, couple a similar one and see if the speed improves. Also check for free movement with your hand , if not you need to reset the drive assembly.
finally check on the motor, check the drive.

SOURCE: "Test" displays no washing done!
Your test mode is on, maybe accidently. Press "start", "cancel", "on" & "off" together for 10 secs, you will see d/off come on the display. Do the same & the test mode comes on again.

I have read that if the pump is not draining the tub completely, there is an interlock that prevents the high speed spin from engagin. I have had debris caught in my pump several times (kids!!) with similar issues. There is a trap on the line leading from the tub to the pump which is "supposed" to capture debris, but it doesn't work all that well. Check your pump.....
