Question about Panasonic DMR-E55 DVD Recorder
I have a Panasonic DMR E55 Video Recorder. I cannot record programs and movies. Even after I record them to a vcr, I can't record them from the vcr. There is a block of some sort. Is there a way around it? I have used Panasonic Ram 4.7, and they work; but now I can't find any of those particular disc anywhere. Can someone help me on both matters?
I think they mean they try to record to the VCR first and then to the video recorder to see if that gets around the issue.
I have the same video recorder and it does the same thing but not to all shows. My wife recorded the last five episodes of Guiding Light. I was able to transfer four but the last episode won't transfer. I checked to see if they offer it for sale through CBS which would explain why that particular episode is blocked but so far no luck.

Make sure you only use the correct type of discs: DVD-RAM or DVD-R for recording and DVD-RAM, DVD-R, DVD-Video, DVD-Audio, Video CD, CD-Audio (CD-DA) and CD-R/RW (MP3, CD-DA, Video CD formatted discs) for playback.
DVD-RAM disks are in plentiful supply on eBay, both new and used. Keep an eye open and you should pick them up, new, for less than £1 Sterling each!
I am unclear, though, what you mean about recording to and from the VCR. The DMR-E55 doesn't have a VCR facility, just DVD.
