Question about Dell OptiPlex GX270 PC Desktop
Monitor works fine but no screen.I think when I had the screen last i changed the settings for resolution and clicked the screen off. I cant get into safe mode to fix this. I have a screen when I press 8 during the boot up but I don't know where to go from there?
Turn on your computer, as soon as you press the power button, begin tapping the F8 key. A menu should come up. Using your arrow keys navigate to the safe mode option.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Is it booting to normal mode?
If it is booting to normal mode, click start - run and type msconfig.
Click on Boot.ini tab and Check Safeboot. Click Apply and Close or OK. It will restart the computer to safe mode. Remember to uncheck Safeboot to make the computer to boot in normal mode again.

What these messages are actually telling you is that the computer can't see the hard drive. Now the real question is why? The best way to solve this would be take the hard drive out and slave to another system. This would tell you if the hard drive is actually spinning, and if all your data is retrieveable. If it can be seen in another system then my guess is that your drive has viruses corrupting the Windows startup files. If it can't be seen then the hard drive will have to go to a professional for data recovery.
