The water spray is only barely coming out. I've checked for clogs and made sure the tanks are all set up properly

SOURCE: Sprays soap, but not water

My Bissell is quite fussy. Sometimes I have to wiggle and push down the tank before the water will start to flow. The water doesn't flow properly if the soap container is low - I fill it with water when rinsing. It has a viewport with a red cross that turns when the water flows. Sometimes just removing that and the white filter below (and putting them back) makes it go. Mine is easy to take apart - 6 screws in the base unit and the top comes off. There are two water tubes going into the handle hinge under where the water tank goes - very easily squished or damaged. Last time the water stopped flowing, I ran it with the cover off and just fiddled around with the tubes and away it went. Maybe it is spraying soap only. The water flows up through the handle to the finger valve and heater. Some people say the heater in the upright/handle gets plugged. I haven't had that apart, but it should be easy to bypass the heater.

Is the smart mix valve turning and stopping where is is supposed to, if it turns all of the way around, then it is broken inside the top cover. Try replacing the smart mix bottle insert and cap asm part #2101795 . Make sure that the rubber gasket is on the valeve asm. at thebottom of the smart mix bottle. If not, it has to be on the valve.

SOURCE: my bissell spot lifter model 1716 won't spray water at all, how do i fix this?

ok - this works even though it probably isn't the "best" solution. Unclog the input and output nozzle ares with a pin. The input area (behind the solution) was my clog problem - I put 2 or 3 drops of CLR into the hole, waited 5 minutes, then primed the trigger. This unclogged it! Fill the tank with a 1:1 ratio of white vinegar and warm water. Insert tank into unit and spray out the contents into the sink. This will eliminate any leftover CLR residue and clean the nozzle thoroughly. For the intake (suction part of the tank) I just rinsed through the lines with the vinegar mix and it seemed to unclog the rest. These things are a pain to take apart and if you break any pieces you'll be stuck - replacement parts have been discontinued for older models.

When button is pressed, water does not come out of the holding canister. still seems to have suction, but water doesn't come out to rinse/clean carpet.

Bissell will spray water when set to water rinse, but as soon as it is set to light, normal, or heavy cleaning, there is no spray. I have tried priming but to no avail. I put plain water in the solution...

We cannot get the water and soap to dispense in out Bissell steamcleaner


Check to ensure there is liquid in the water tank and the formula bottle.
Note: This machine will spray with liquid in the Water tank only if the machine is set to the Water Rinse setting. On any other setting, you need to have liquid in the formula tank as well.

If no: add liquid to the Water tank and the Formula tank.
If yes: check each of the following....

- Ensure the tank lid is properly attached to the bottom of the tank. To attach this properly, remove the Water Tank from the machine. My bissell steam cleaner will not spray any water
