Hold the button in for about 5 seconds. It's like a safety built in so you don't bump the power to off accidently.

My Philips Go Gear SA2825/93 seems to be frozen. It's out of battery, but whenever I try to plug it into my computer, it only says "OK to disconnect", and the computer doesn't see it. When I unplug it, it...

I had the same problem. Download the Device manager from Your CD or from the Philips support homepage. Then connect the cable to Your PC and then finally connect Your SA 2825/93 to the cable. Then You will get connection and can press "repair"

Connect your player to the pc that has the Philips device manager running, then reset the player by holding the off-switch and the volume-+ (plus) switch. As soon as the player shuts off, press and hold the volume- - (minus) switch. The Philips device manager will recognize the player now, and recommend a repair, do so.

I was downloading music to my go gear, it started making a weird noise, i disconnected it and now it is frozen. the screen says do not disconnect. how do i do a soft reset?

Reset the player by holding the off-switch and the volume-+ (plus) switch.
If this doesn't help, connect the player to power and pc, repeat the above, and as soon as the player shuts off, press and hold the volume- - (minus) switch. The philips device manager should come up now and recommend a repair, let it do so.

My phillips go gear froze in the middle of song. will not shut off.

Pull the battery or unplug for 5 minutes. this will reset the core. if the device remains in the frozen state, you will need to replace the core micro board.
