Question about Washing Machines
What do I do now. The rubbing alcohol (half a bottle) was dilute with a gallon of water in the machine. Then I realized, oh no that's flammable, and got the water, alcohol mixture out of machine (as much as I could, tiny pool left) What are next steps to make sure my machine is safe?
Run it with a FULL LOAD of water and detergent but NO CLOTHING. It will wash the rest out. If you are near a slop sink, you can just fill it with a hose to dilute any remaining fumes.

Testimonial: "David Thank you. Follow up question. With the clothes that are soaked in alcohol, should I wash them in the bath a couple times (with detergent) to release those fumes before placing in the machine. Will that be good enough to remove the rubbing alcohol and the danger quotient. Many thanks! "

drain screen or hose is most likely clogged. That is usually the case when they don't drain. Newer machines are really tempermental this way.

Make sure that there is no blockage in
the drain hose and that it is not
Is the drain hose installed correctly?
If you have connected your machine to a
sink waste system, make sure that you
have cut out the membrane from the
under sink drainage system.
Ensure that the drainage system, standpipe or under sink connection is free from any blockage. - If any of the above are found to be the cause of your problem you will need to run the machine through a spin only programme. If you have chosen ‘Rinse Hold’, the light will flash until you press the ‘Rinse Hold’ button to continue the programme.

Yes, you can use Miracle-Gro Water Soluable Plant Food in the Ortho Dial N Spray hose-end sprayer. Simply set the dial on the Dial N Spray to 4 ounces. The label rate for Miracle-Gro All Purpose Plant Food is 1 tablespoon per gallon of water. To make 8 gallons of finished spray, measure 8 rounded tablespoons of plant food into the Dial N Spray jar and fill the jar with water. Mix thoroughly. Set the dial at 4 ounces. When you have sprayed until jar is empty, you will have applied 8 gallons of properly diluted spray. Hilary@Scotts
