I had a complete system crash; located all my cd's except my driver for my JBL Platinum Series speakers. Can you help me find a driver? I purchased with my HP Computer sometime in 2004, I believe. Thanks...

ok if these are the speakers im thinking of (have seen them on a pold HP pavilon computer, attached to the monitor) , than the speakers themselfs do not need drivers, as long as you have the sound card drivers your good to go

I am having speaker problems.

Hi, the speakers won't make a difference. if your sound drivers are gone you need to know what sound card you have or what integrated sound card you have. You will also need to know what operating system you are utilizing. What you can do is go to start, settings control panel, system, click on the hardware tab, click device manager, scroll down to where you see something with sound listed. Right click on that, and click "scan for hardware changes" It should find drivers for your sound card if not list the model of your computer and I'll do some research =) Good luck!

Bad direct sound driver

First, go to control panel, and then device manager, to see if any problems exist. If not, still in control panel. go to check sound. Click on Manage Audio devices to see if all is ok. If you need to redownload your sound controller, like realtek, or it needs an upgrade, you can download that from your computer's support website. You also can check to see if you have configured your system to your speakers==are you using built-ins, or have you purchased others? Let me know if this does the trick for you.

Sound device problem

hi abdi,
the problem is that your sound driver is not installed. You might have got a driver cd when you purchased your PC. Installed the required sound driver and you are done. if you dont know what driver you need you can try sound max or realtek ac97 or conexant audio driver...
hope it helps

I assume when you say "restored" you mean the Windows XP restore... It's likely that windows deleted the registry information for your sound card drivers. When you bought your computer, it likely came with a disk for "Audio Drivers," or maybe just a generic "System Drivers" CD. Use whichever CD you have to re-install the sound card drivers, or if you know what kind of sound card (or onboard sound) you have, you can visit the website of the manufacturer to download the drivers from there.
