Check the amount of space you have left on your xbox there is a chance you don't have enough room on your xbox to accommodate the amount of space it needs

SOURCE: my xbox won't let me connect with certain xbox

this is because your nat type is strict. you need to change this. My friend bo had the same thing happen and all you have to do is open up your configuration to your modem or router and make necessary changes i am sorry to say at this time i cant tell you exactly what to do but i have good news it can be fixed for free unless you have a slow or weak connection.

SOURCE: when I go to download

Try going into your network connections and doing a test connection. It should log you out do the test succesfully and then attempt to redo the update. It should ask you to update again and just accept the update by pressing the A button.

Hopefully it should update your system without the error this time? Good luck.

Have you made sure you DNS settings are set to automatic? Mine were manual and I had the exact same. I switched to automatic and gave it a try. Worked no problem!

It sounds like you've refused an Xbox Live Update at some point.
You can go into your system options and see if there's an update available.
To check for an update on the Xbox 360 you basically force a new Xbox Live connection:
  1. Press the Guide button (center logo button), bringing up the pop-up menu
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Select System Settings
  4. Select Network Settings
  5. Select Wired Network or the name of your wireless network if you're on wifi
  6. Select Test Xbox Live Connection
  7. Select Yes if prompted to update. If you're not prompted and the test completes successfully, you have the most recent update.
If that doesn't work try this link http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/927749-xbox-360/67807343

Got a game the other day the xbox 360 will not let us play it keeps coming up the game requires an update please can you tell me what that means

Means you system needs an update. Connect you xbox to xbox live. If you don't have an account thats alright silver access will work for this. I was going to type it out but found this and thought be easier for you to use just go to this site:http://support.xbox.com/en-us/pages/xbox-360/how-to/update-xbox-360/system-updates.aspx. Let me know if it works. Also if you cant do this there is a way to update through burned cd or flash drive both of which you can find instructions form the same site but xbox live is much faster and easier.

There are a few things you can try; Clearing your cache, you can download the update on your PC through xbox.com and the transfer it using a USB thumb drive. If that still doesn't work, I'd try contacting xbox support, they might have a solution for this issue by now.

The new update that the xbox is doing today ,,,it tells me to test my connection , my connection is good and working just does not go all the way across the last part of the testing bar but is connected...

I fixed mine by going into System Settings, Network settings, then running a test on xbox live. Initiating the test logs your profile out then runs a network test. The test completed with no problems and then asked me if I wanted to update again. Without logging back into my profile I clicked OK and the update ran without a hitch. I think the solution lies in the fact that my profile was logged out and from what I have seen, the only way to connect to xbox live without a profile being logged in is with a network test. Once you connect to xbox live it senses that you don't have the update and asks you again, this time without a profile logged in and you are able to do it.

I can't connect to xbox live , it tells me to test my connection , its going fine , halfway to through the xbox live bar then an update pops up , if i say i dont want it , it signs me out of xbox live

have you tested the Internet connection? what are you using wireless or wired? this isue comes up sometimes when you use wireless and it looses signal... this can happen if the xbox is too far from the wireless router OR there is interfearence ebtween the 2 devices (microwave, wireless phones, etc.)

Xbox live test fails and so does update

you need to open the port that the update is trying to go through. the easiest way is to turn your firewall off, but this opens up your security. another way is to forward the correct port through port forwarding on your router. findout which port xbox live uses and put in the information to the router
