My kenmore top load washer model # 84870800 will not drain this is a old model

Could be worst case the pump has packed up or if a belt driven pump the belt is broken,or there is an obstuction in one of the following (1)in the pipe that runs from the drum to the pump inlet(2)in the pump itself this could be any thing from a sock to coins to bra wire stuck in the impeller houseing wich stops the impeller from moveing normally can be removed(3)in the pipe from the pump to the drain if any of the pipes are obstructed clear and rplace if the pump is blocked remove clear and replace ensureing that all clamps are tight and wires (if any) are put back in the same place and securely(please remember to switch off and unplug any appliance before working on it
