My T5026 did that. The modem had gone bad, pulled it no more problems.

Precision T7400 power supply sounding an alarm

Did you open the case on your computer? It may have an open case alarm which is a small switch typically located near the edge of the cover you removed. Make sure the case cover is completely installed, then see if the alarm goes off.

While cleaning my step-mother turned her monitor off and cant figure out how to turn it back on

Most monitors have very small switches either on the lower front frame (below the screen), on the right side frame, or in a few cases at the bottom of the frame (cant be seen from the front, unless you duck under it). Hit every one of the buttons in sequence, like 10 seconds apart, to give the monitor a chance to warm up and start. Evidently, stop hitting on buttons when the monitor lights up. Do not worry about hitting the wrong buttons, since they will not accept any commands while the monitor is turned off.

I need to find out where the 3 little plugs go that are connected to the power button theres a blue/white black/white red/white plugs comming from it going to the motherboard

Sometime these connectors from the desktop case front panel have labels indentifing what each connector/plug is for. From your description they could be a reset switch or LED indicators for hard disk or power light etc.
If the plugs are not labeled then trace the wires back to the front panel to identify what they are attached to.
When you connect the LED indicators to the motherboard and it does not light up when they suppose to, then turn the plug around 180 degrees.
The LED are polarity sensitive ie they only light up if the + and - leads are connected to the motherboard correctly.

Push button small light in middle comes on fan on power pack turns 1/4 turn and that is it

i have this problem with my E Machines W 3104 and i unplugged it and still i could make the fans turn on like you said for maybe a quarter turn, plus the lights would basically flash once every time i pressed the power button. after the little death beep noise from inside when it loses power completely i plug it in again and it will turn on just fine . the first time it did that i thought it was because it had too much power built up in the power supply, and maybe it did but it ussually turns right back on after "draining it". try that and see if it helps at all

Laptop won't turn on and charging light is not orange when plugge

I had the exact same problem. Here is the fix: remove the keyboard, battery and CMOS battery then press and hold the power button for a min. Plug just the power in then try to turn it back on. If it doesnt remove more perhiprels such as DVD, memory, hard drive then do the power button hold cycle again. After it turns on, remove the power then add the perhiprels you need to boot to BIOS, i.e; keyboard & memory. Go to BIOS then plug in the battery while the laptop is running. Unplug the power to see make sure laptop runs on the battery. Turn off then add the rest of perhiprels then plug it in power again before closing all up. If the orange light problem comes back repeat above! OR you can take it to your HP dealer to have it fixed under warranty if you are lucky. Then never buy HP ****!

Hope it helps...

They all do, I believe, I installed a new one, into my computer system not long ago, are you sure your power supply is one that the computer can handle? You shouldn't have that much of a problem - I wouldn't go pulling apart the wires on the power supply, its made like that for a reason, what you could try is see if your power supply has seated properly, sometimes if your not working on a flat surface the power supply plug won't go in properly and will not be pushed in all of the way, try laying your computer on its side, and pushing in the plug also, each motherboard has a certain amount of plugs for example 20 and 24, some motherboards want it to be a 20 power plug and others want it to be 24 power plug, thats the plug thats connected to your motherboard, that I'm talking about. make sure you have the right number, and that the motherboard plug and the power supply plug match, basically have the same number of connectors, (I mean that little white plug at the end of the red, yellow, black, wires, I hope this helps. ps- I really had to push on the white plug to get my seated properly

Computer will not turn on

Best way to check is to open your case. Near the power supply plug to the motherboard should be a little led light. If it is getting power to the board this light should be green. If it's unlit then most likely your power supply has gone bad. Hope this helps.

ASUS Z91H PUSHED POWER BUTTON BUT WITHOUT DISPLAY

Try pressing the power button and press [del] button. See if it goes to the bios setup page. If it does, have your harddisk checked. It could be corrupt OS or problem with your harddisk.

Dell SX260...Wont Boot...Power Button Flashing Amber....grrrr!

Try these (un order of degree of difficulty) 1. Try replacing the battery on the system board. it is  typically a CR2032 button-style battery. This helps if the computer has been off for a long time.  2. Make sure all dust has been blown or vacuumed out of the computer. 3. Check to see if the USB pins are bent inside the connector on the back and the front of the computer. Straighten if possible. 4. Remove add-in cards, fans, shrouds, and heatsinks, then check the system board for leaky or mushroomed capacitors. If you would like, this may also be a good time to see if the processor is seated correctly or possibly short-circuited (burned black on the bottom, burnt or missing pins, etc). If it is any of these, you may need a new system board (motherboard) 5. It may be that you need a new power supply. Do your best to make sure that it will fit your computer case and have all the power connectors you need; they are not created equal.
