TK2212 is a Portable 2 way radio not a scanner. What is it that you are trying to do with the radio? What codes are you talking about? If you are trying to program the radio you will need software and cable that is available from a Kenwood dealer or sometimes you can purchase the cable on Ebay and get the software from someone on Yahoo user group "Radio programming"
The software program is KPG-35D and you need a cable that is KPG-36. I can't help you with the software because it is copyrighted by Kenwood. You should try looking in the Yahoo Groups section for a programming group or Kenwood group. Many have found the road to enlightenment doing so (if you get what I mean).
Is the transfer cable USB or 9 pin? I know I have had problems with laptops and had to go back to a desktop and it would work fine. I know some of my Motorola programs I have to use a old slower computer because the computer's speed. The new computers won't work with some of the older radio programs. I know my Yaesu VX-7 has the same problem with uploading, I'll get it out today and see what I did to fix it...
