Question about Microsoft Excel for PC

Search options in drop down menu

I am creating a drop down menu for 1000 items and would like to put the item number and get the pricing for that particular item rather than scrolling down the drop down box. Is it possible?

It is possible. But you need to write a macro to map the selected item number to price.

How can I create a bulleted two column list within a resume document?

This requires you to create a table. Look for a Table menu or menu item in the Format menu. You'll need to tell it you want two columns and five rows in the table. After you've inserted the items you can then highlight everything in the table and right click to choose bullets from bullets and numbering from the format option.

I have downloaded the MapiLab Mail Merge Toolkit to use with MS Word and Publisher. However, only Word displays the option to use it, not Publisher. I need to know how to enable it for Publisher.

Hi there,
The "MAPILab" folder is created in the "Start" menu. It contains the folders of all installed add-ins the way it is shown below in the menu:
ynogami21_3.jpg

Open the help of some installed add-in and see the "Introduction" or "Working with the program" sections to find the description on what control items it adds to the Microsoft Outlook toolbar and menu and under what conditions these items become visible and available.
If there are no described items in the Microsoft Outlook interface, make sure the add-in is loaded (look at the article "How is it possible that I cannot enable an add-in? What are "disabled items"?).

Hope this helps!

RPE ver12.5, "Kit Maintenance" (5C)

Hi Mike,
Version 12 does not have KIT MAINTENANCE option, so you did not create a kit. Your test COMBO item just had three items included with it. Close RPE and reopen it. If this does not clear discount, go to each item in INVENTORY MAINTENANCE and check settings there. Change the price and SAVE, then change it back to correct price and SAVE. If you are getting a discounted price, it has to be in INVENTORY MAINTENANCE somewhere.

How do I send notes to my kitchen printer

You first need to create a new inventory item.
1. Create a standard item in the INVENTORY Maintenance.
2. Call it NOTES and put it in the NONE department.
3. Uncheck all boxes under OPTIONAL INFO, the OPTIONS tab.
4. Click the ADDITIONAL INFO tab, uncheck all boxes but PROMPT DESCRIPTION.
5. Under PRINTERS, add the kitchen printer.
6. Save the inventory item.
7. Go to SETUP, TOUCH SCREEN CONFIGURATION.
8. Click on one of the 16 buttons in middle of page, an unused one. It should turn green.
9. On bottom half of page, set it to a FIXED ITEM.
10. Set caption to KITCHEN NOTES.
11. Check box to display button.
12. Picture can be left blank.
13. In ENTER ITEM NUMBER, type NOTES, the new item you created.
14. Click SAVE AND EXIT.
15. Log out of RPE. When you log back in, you should have a KITCHEN NOTES button. You have a limit of 30 characters. However you can hit button as often as you like to continue your message to kitchen. This should not print on customer's receipt.

Item number setup

QuickBooks is not really designed to track lot/serial numbers, but here is something that may work:

1) From the "Item List"
2) Add (or Edit) an "Inventory Part"
3) Click on the "Custom Fields" button
4) Then, Click on the "Define Field" option
4) Then, place a check-mark in the "Label" box and then type "MFG Lot #" in the "Label" field

a) Most reports will allow you to "show" this new custom field
b) Warning: Custom Fields (in QB) are merely a "text" box, so don't expect to establish "drop-downs" or filter by a specific choice, since filtering requires "exact" text match. (for example, if someone types the lot # as: "1001-9008" (with hyphen) and you search for "10019008" (without hyphen) QuickBooks will not recognize as a match, when filtering/searching the reports.

How do i change prices in restaurant pro express?

under manager, choose administrative, then inventory maintenance. This puts you where you set item pricing. You then need to locate the item. 3 ways to do this. Use the NEXT or PREVIUOS buttons to scroll thru entire inventory. Or if you know the item number, type it in the search box and hit ENTER. Or click the LOOKUP button and search for item on this screen and then hit SELECT.

If this helps, please give me a good rating. If you need further assistance with RPE, email me at sysadmin@ccybernet.com or call 814-797-5722 and ask for *****.
