Question about HTC Touch Dual P5500 Smartphone
I am having trouble with the contacts and SMS and MMS being lost after a sync with the USB cable Activesync. Can you get these back and I also ma have a back up on an old computer?
In the article below there is some reference to an Windows Phone application that will transfer or copy all you contact. Se what it is about, maybe it will help you.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
New users get to try the service completely Free afterwhich it costs $6 per call and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

No, it's very likely a software configuration option on your phone.
Goto: "Start | Settings | Connections | USB to PC" and clear the checkbox "Enable faster data synchronization". Don't forget to restart your phone afterwards.
Having that option "enabled" makes for faster (Explorer-like) file-transfers, but disables "ActiveSync", making the device a normal "USB storage device" without the sync extra features. Disabling the options re-enables the "ActiveSync".
