Question about Olympus Vr-340 16mp Camera Digital Optical Zoom With 10x
It's a brand new camera and a brand new SD card...never used in any other camera and never taken out of the camera until I tried to download them all at once.
I'm not at all familiar with this camera, but some cameras I've used (and cell phones, GPS units, etc.) store photos in two places: the camera's internal memory and the additional memory card (the SD card you speak of), and may require that you specifically identify where to locate the files. Try connecting the camera to your computer, and using Windows Explorer, find the camera, then scout around to see if you can find a folder for the SD Card, and a separate folder for the camera's internal memory. Mark down these pathways and go back to whatever photo-keeping software you use (something that came with the camera, perhaps?) and make sure that both folders are being located. Hope this helps.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I just spoke to Olympus Tech Support.
You have to download Olympus Master 2. (Their program is no longer called Camedia Master.)
At their main site, search for olympus master 2.

SOURCE: Card Problem
What is most likely going on is your computer formatted the card to it, and the card needs to be formatted to work in the camera. What you should do is choose to format the card when you get the message "power off or format". Directions on how to format the card are on page 143 of your camera manual and I have included a link to a PDF download of your camera manual in case you no longer have yours. I hope this helps!

it would appear that the computer is seeing the camera incorrectly... the camera should be recognized as usb mass storage device and uses the driver usbstor

SOURCE: SD Card or Memory card
Hi - You can download the manual by clicking the link underlined in blue below:
C 3000 Zoom
See page 231:
So the camera takes SmartMedia cards not SD.
An eBay search found 84 cards for sale in my area, also try Google for other suppliers near you.
Please take a moment to rate this solution & let us know if the information given was useful to you - Good Luck!

Just had the same issue today. The Olympus Helpdesk told me that the fact I had printed one of the picture from the Xd card in directly inserting the card in the printer slot for Xd created the problem....
The guy from the Helpdesk strongly recommended to transfer the pictures from the camera to the computer exclusively using the USB cable of the camera.
In the end I have saved all my 505 pictures in using the Smart Recovery from PC Inspector but why the hell this problem only happens with Xd cards?
