Thanks for your help. The information is very useful. I have been researching this for a friend. The problem now is that Cuisinart doesn't list the part she needs. I forgot the name of it, now, but can prob. look it up again.

You have a Sam's Club variant of the model:
The blender parts are the same for that model as for the CBT-500 - food processor parts are the same as for the BFP-703

All available from www.cuisinart.com

Good luck!

How do I remove old blade?

Hi Paul,
There is a collar on the base of the jar that screws onto the jar. You will need to unscrew the collar and fit a replacement blade. make sure the seal is replaced with the blade and the collar is screwed back securely.
See this link for the parts of the blender.

Need a motor for a cbt 500bw cuisinart

Cuisinart websites for both Canada and the US have parts ordering services; however they do not list parts like blender motors.

I woud suggest you contact their Customer Service to inquire if and how a motor may be made available.

Customer Service contact information is available here:

Blender motor quit working

there are really only two options. 1- you can try to find out if the manufacture has a department in your area and weather they sell replacement parts or if not then you can take the motor to a re winder they re wind the burned out wire and replace it with new but it can be expensive but they are really your only options.

hope this helps

Blender container leaks even though gasket is in place

Hey, I know this is an old thread but just had the same problem and solved it. With the blender container upside down, place the gasket on the jar hole, put the blade through the hole on top of the gasket, then screw the plastic base on top of that.

The way I had done it before was to pop the blade into the bottom of the plastic base first then screw it onto the gasket and jar but it goes on the gasket, not under the bottom of the base. Hope that helps anyone else in the future.

Also just read the manual instructions like I didn't, clear as day right there but I never bothered to read them ha
