Question about Samsung Televison & Video
You are on the right track suspecting a power supply problem. If you are tehnically inclined you might be able to repair your TV, especially if a board swap seems feasible. As always you have to dtermine the cost of repairs vs replacement

I am working on one right now with a similiar problem. The power supply is bad in the one I am working on, and sadly, the part is not made anymore. I hope you have better luck than I am finding the bad component in yours. Sorry for the negitive answer.

If it is a LCD TV, and there is a faint picture, it is probably the backlight or inverter board (probably the latter). This is a common problem (especially with PC monitors).
Do an internet search for your model and inverter, you may be able to replace it.
Make SURE you REMOVE the power lead before opening the set !!!!

SOURCE: Audiovox LCD FPE3206 problems
I ordered a new power supply module on ebay. Cost about 106.00 delivered. Came in a few days. I replaced the unit, bunch of screws, all wires were cable plugins, no problems at all.
After reassembly, it worked. What can I say? Sometimes ya just get lucky.
